Let's say performance data gets released prior to delivery of your car and it's not close to what people were hoping for...everything else checks out, that great sound, great handling, etc, but the actual performance numbers just don't play out compared to the competition.

Do you keep it, or pass? Curious as to what is the consensus here.

Keep it. I've lusted after Shelby Mustangs since I was a little kid.

Every review has already said how compliant it is on track. I honestly don't care if the quarter mile is eclipsed in a 11.9 or 12.3. I hope track temps are reasonable. That's honestly the only other data point I'm keeping an eye on.

Don't stack up to what? Have to draw the line somewhere and it will be different for everyone.

For me, I don't care about drag racing but quarter-mile times represent the ability of the car to accelerate...so if it's below a 12.3 - I'm going to have a problem.

Numbers are over my B302. It's all gravy...

Let's say a Z/28 or Cayman GT4 or a Stingray

Early poll results are interesting.

Only a slight lead to keep it versus dump it

Anyone thinking the numbers won't meet the hype needs to do some research or some math.

^ Pure speculation. Numbers don't always equate to real world. Plenty of cars whose numbers equate to be better or worse than expected performance. Until we get real data this car is just seat of the pants performance.

I would dump to wait for two years till they up the power. It should turn 120mph plus in the qtr. if not then yes a concern for sure.
Track car mostly for me so not the end of the world.
Oh keep it in a second if dealer removed the 10 k adm on it

Very unlikely in my opinion that the performance isn't there. It's possible there could be something about the car that I hate after driving it for a while, though.

I don't think it will happen, but if I don't want the car after I have it for a short time I will sell. I will probably have no problem finding someone to buy it next spring if that's the case.

If I only cared about numbers, I'd be super/turbocharging a GT.

I hear you, but not really the point of the question. Theres a threshold of expected performance with this car that we all have in mind, I would say even you. If it doesn't meet that threshold, then what...
