Realize different folks will have diff ideas on how to order, use and customize their Mustang - one of the cool things about this car. I can imagine many are trying to find their happy medium between two extremes - on one side the weight weenies trying to strip it down and build a Z28 like machine, OTOH the grand touring folks trying to make is as comfy and lux as possible. I'm somewhere in the middle - I see the car I'm building as more racey and sporty than a grand tourer - for the looks/feel and occasional autox (hence the TY, Recaro seats and PP and future bolt ons) at the same time I plan on driving it daily (so I got the Premium package). I chose to forgo the subwoofer and auto seats/BLIS etc (so compromised on some lux). Sidebar - not providing donuts/spares creates issues with using the car as a GT IMHO, its risky to rely on those spray and seal cans on road trips.

Back on track - I wanted to see what folks think are the heaviest options/easiest ways to lose weight. The curb weights quoted are I believe with popular options. My thoughts are (very unscientific) in order of incremental weight:

1) GT PP (its ironic but makes sense, those goodies they are including add weight)
2) EB PP
3) 401A
//aftermarket substitution of drive shaft with alum or carbon
4) Premium with Standard Seats
5) Premium with Recaro Seats
// aftermarket headers and axleback
6) Base with standard Seats
7) Base with Recaro Seats
//rear seat deletion
9) 50 yr anniversary package
10) 20 inch wheel
11) Spare wheel and tire (donut)
12) Enhanced security package
13) Adaptive cruise control
//now we're getting into weight differences that are probably not significant below
14) Rear parking sensors
15) Premier accent trim (which not one knows what it is still, LOL!)
16) Navigation

Speculate away!:D

401A and the 20" wheels are what I feel would be the heaviest options.

You feel the additional wt of the 20's over the PP 19's is more than the PP (wheels apart) - ex: strut brace, 6 pistons vs 4 pistons etc?

Glad I'm getting neither of those options (20's, 401A).

Obviously I can't say for sure, but I'm thinking that the PP wheels are lightweight wheels for performance. That's why I leaned that direction. I'm betting that the 20's are going be pretty darn heavy. I don't know if it's enough to offset the difference between the PP or not, though.

I think it's very possible that the net weight increase from 401A will be more than for the Performance Package. Those extra (large) speakers and amps (SIX amplifiers vs one for the 400A stereo, IIRC) are heavy. Plus the BLIS system and seat/mirror memory options surely add a little bit too.

Oh, this is easy. The rear parking sensors will be the least impact of all.

If you have a Premium model, adding Navigation adds zero weight.
I was guessing that they'd have to at least add a gps unit if you went with nav. Do they throw the GPS unit in regardless? I'd be curious why they would if that's true. Are they spying on me? :lol:

Anyhow, my point was simple, funny to make a list of heaviest things when a few of them are clearly not the heaviest things, not even close. Just say'n.

Premium, 401A and PP would likely be the top three, not sure which one wins.
