I'm sure there must be a thread or 10 in here but I can't find them using search. If someone could link a thread with some speaker advice I'd appreciate it. I have the Shaker Pro 12 speaker system and it's pretty disappointing. I can barely hear the back speakers at all, even if I fade the sound all the way to the back. The bass is just barely passable with it maxed but my main complaint is not even hearing the rear speakers and the quality of the fronts. So audio quality in general is pretty poor. TIA -Joe

Is your plan to just upgrade the speakers or to add an amp as well?

I'm hoping just speakers. I'm not looking for a serious system, sometimes I don't even listen to music. When I do listen to it though, I want it to be decent quality. I thought getting the Shaker Pro 12 speaker system would provide decent sound. Maybe there's just something wrong with my rear speakers? I thought a long time ago there were some recommendations on here about speakers but now I can't find them.

In the 12 speaker system, the mid and tweeter are both run off one channel of the factory amp while the midbass is run off a second channel. Probably the simplest route for you would be to find a two-way set (tweeter & 6.5") where the crossover allows you to power each speaker separately.

For the sub, you can try adding stuffing to the enclosure to squeeze a little more bass out, but really, short of adding a powered enclosure or amp/sub/enclosure, that's about it.

So you don't think there is something wrong with my rear speakers if I have the music at a decent listening level and then fade the sound to the rear and I can barely hear it?

I can hear the subwoofer. It's not great but it's ok. The front speakers again certainly aren't great but they are ok. I get almost no sound from the rear. Maybe that's normal but I'm used to the rear being the primary sound and front adding the highs that don't carry so well.

There are two "occupancy mode" settings in the audio section. One is for driver only and one is for all passengers (if I recall correctly). If you switch back and forth between those modes it should tell you if your rear speakers are doing anything.
