Very unlikely. So is it possible that some of the exhaust sound I am hearing is from the sound tube?
It's induction sound. When engine is sucking in air, the air hits closed valves to cause an echo. You are hearing the echo.So then what does the sound tube do? I guess I don't know what sound I should be hearing. Is it just the sound of the engine like it sounds when you have the hood open?
Maybe bjstang can take an open-valve and closed valve video.
If you want more noise from the stock intake, you can cut the resonators off and cap them. Many people remove the sound tube because it's just clutter and the engine bay looks better with it gone in my opinion. You can put a cap in the firewall once you get that pain in the ass plug out from it.Is it just quieter? How is it different/better?
Whats the link for that please ?It supposedly amplifies intake noise (and by association, engine/exhaust) inside the cabin. I ordered one of those irrigation valves that BJstang installed so I can try shutting it off and on to see, or hear, rather, what exactly the sound difference is.
I ordered it from eBay - search for "Drip Irrigation Control valve - Barb x Barb - 1-inch (25mm)"Whats the link for that please ?
