Hey Guys,

So I have been very fortunate to be working with and getting parts made by Sound Performance.

I cannot rave enough about these guys as their work is second to none. They are world renowned when it comes to what they can do with Supra's, especially when it comes to reliability.

Until I can release more info, I wanted to give you a sneak peak at one of the parts they have fabricated for the ecoboost. More to come...

Yes that is a 3" downpipe with a Boost Activated Cutout! :headbang:

Completely adjustable to open up at whatever PSI you want.

I'll be working on a video soon, so stay tuned...

Sound has always made good quality stuff. I used to use their products on a few customers cars (Supra's) back in the day.

I'm hoping you are going to like the sound when it opens. We did an external dump on our turbo kit and the sound was horrific, now we refuse to make a single turbo kit with external dump. Obviously there is going to be some sound differences between wastegate dump and exhaust dump but it is fairly close to the turbo in the picture above and going to be LOUD haha.

Too bad these don't route outboard as side pipes. Fuel injection and a sparkplug could complete the nasties! Oh, and instead of pressure activation a switch would be nice.

Nice to see another big shop hopping on. Unique option, but won't be cheap. The valve itself is $475.

Not to deflate the OPs sails but this is basically the same setup Starlord was running. If anyone wants to pick it up cheap he's got a heck of a deal on his DP and valve in the for sale section.

Definitely Will Do!

It's actually surprising as to how loud it is. I was expecting it to be ridiculous and its actually not that bad. Once work calms down a bit, I'm going to get my recording mics and do a video for you guys so that you can hear it and decide what you think about it. :D

They have some cool ideas with what they want to do to this platform. Once I get the motor build, they will get the go ahead to really ring this engine out. Fingers Crossed for this fall!

nice work

Chicago Winters are the culprit of this mess. I was shocked when I saw it too, when I got the car back from SP I went straight to get the undercarriage cleaned.

Too bad these don't route outboard as side pipes. Fuel injection and a sparkplug could complete the nasties! Oh, and instead of pressure activation a switch would be nice.
I'll ask them about that. I'm sure they could definitely make something like that happen. However, I am happy with it being boost activated, I have it set to 15 psi and using a Cobb tune with it, if I want it to be silent I leave it in mode 5, and when I want it to open up then switch to mode 1 and light up everyone's face. Peoples reaction to it is priceless.

No worries, you are not deflating anything. Thanks for getting the word out.

Is this going to connect to the oem exhaust?
Yes it does, it really is a neat solution. Sound Performance uses this system on all of their 1000+ hp Supra's and the reason behind it is to keep attention away from the exhaust db. If you drive the car around like I do (daily), the last thing I want is trouble with law enforcement. Keep it stock (quiet) when I'm not beating on it and when I need to open it up, it does so.
