So this happened today

Seems my stock mufflers ( with heartthrob H-pipe ) are now a lot louder with 17000 miles on the odometer. Warmed up average idle DB is 79, Holding at 2500 rpm
is 101 DB (20" away @ 45* angle). I like it lol.

Rap the mufflers with a rubber mallet and see if you hear any rattle. If so, something broke. If not, enjoy the sound you seem to like. I would be concerned if there is something rattling, because it can clog up the system. Aftermarket exhaust is by far a better route to get better tone and more volume in a controlled manner. Then again if all is well... 101 at a 45 20' away is loud sir. Wake the neighbors!!!

One side or both?

Both sides. More or less the same range of DB. Didn't here any rattling when i tapped them with the rubber mallet.
But the meter picks up sound from both sides to I don't think you can get a 100% accurate result.
