So....Pedalmax

Did you get the pedalcommander or the pedalmax?
The only reason I was going to get the pedalmax instead was because I could order it on AM and get the 1 day shipping for $30 because I'm impatient as hell. I even paid $100 to get 1 day shipping for my Flowmasters. Yea I'm dumb but this is why I hate online shopping.

After seeing multiple modes and options to play with I chose Pedalcommander over pedal max to command roads

I think both of them would be fine...max is just a bit more expensive if you want the controller. I definitely think this is the first mod that all v6ers should get. It just made my car feel alive.

Well I went for a short ride just to see how it felt with the auto trans,I had it set on sport green1 the lag is gone when I take off witch is nice but still have a bit when I kick it down at around 30 but not like it was,think I'll go to #2 green and see how it does but I still need to drive to town then around town and back to get the real feel but so far I like it,when I backed up my driveway(a good incline) I spun the tires witch it never did before without trying to do,overall I believe I made a good choice in buying the commander,still have a few weeks to really check it out but I believe it's a keeper,just need to find the spot that matches my driving style witch is more like the Drive it like you stole it thing. I'll get a good drive around in it tomorrow.

Since all our cars are drive by wire, the throttle is controlled by the ecu, these memorize your driving habit and is kind of geared towards efficiency. You may not realize it but when you hit the gas pedal there is a bit of lag to get the car going. Before the pedalcommander i could floor it at take off and i could feel the lag so bad that id have the pedal floored for a good few seconds before the car actually reached maximum throttle.
If youve ever driven a car with a cable to control the throttle, youll notice that the pedal is very sensitive and the response is instant, if you floor it, youd be at maximum throttle almost instantly and youd probably be pushed back in your seat.

The throttle controller changes the signal from the pedal so that the feedback is much faster and It simulates the responsiveness of a dbc car. There is a video from sprint booster that shows how this works, wothout the throttle control the blades opened up very slowly, with the mod the blades opened up instantly.

Thanks for the explanation. My last car was a 92 Celica with proper cable throttle... It had half the power of my Mustang... But when you stomped on the gas it did take off pretty quick.

Think I will get this mod.

I put mine on the right side of Column also,just above that little vent where lower dash meets upper dash,fits nice there,I just cleaned the dash area and the plastic mount with the alcohol swab that comes with the kit and the Velcro attaches and holds good.

Question: I have bbk 73mm TB, will this device still be as effective as the stock TB ?

Yes, it work with the pedal commander, the only thing the pedal commander is incerase the voltage to the throttle body. When you order your MPT let them know you have a 73 mm throttle body so they can adjust for it.

The only differance between the is the control box, JMS PedalMAX comes programed with max voltage you plug and go. The control box which is extra with the PedalMAX is to control it like the pedal commander. I've had a JMS PedalMAX since Feb 2015 it was my first mod. It sounds like the box is a pain.

I think we need to post up pictures of where we stuck the controller. I'll do it after work today (BTW happy Friday).
I'm having a really difficult time finding a good spot without it interfering with something (shifter knob, pedal, parking brake).

Id put up a pic but I can never get pics to load on this site,went for a ride today and put it in sport 2,like it better then one so I'll drive it like this for a few days,then maybe try 3 and see how that compiars to 2.

Think I got it,the extra cord is for my dash camera.

I can just pop it off the mount,make a change and pop it back on the mount and its out of the way,I have enough cable to move it over to adjust,it's nice and its kinda tucked away.

Should add that the cord runs over to the middle counsel and is tucked in so the cord is out of the way and will not fall,it's perfect for me.
