For anyone that has done the 305 square setup on 19x11 wheels, do you use one of those adapter style 20mm spacers that you torque down to the hub, or did you get the Ford Performance hub with 3" studs or install your own 3" studs on the stock hub? I'd rather save the money/time and not worry about getting longer studs, assuming the adapter style spacers that torque to the hub are safe for track use. It seems like the main issue with them is you have to take the wheel off to check the torque.

Don't track these.

Extended studs and slip ons or get different offset (+24-26) front wheels. Those are your good options.

I'm most likely going to get the 19x11 +50 SVE R350 wheels. So with that route I guess I need to go longer studs, open lug nuts, 20mm slide on spacer?

Yes. For your DD wheels you can either keep the open lugs by themselves or used closed ones on top of the open ones, or find 1" longer closed tuner lugs.

Ahh, ok. I was hoping to avoid that. Long studs won't look that great on my daily wheels, even with longer closed lugs, but I guess it's something that needs done if I want to run a wider set of wheels/tires. Thank's for the info.

Right. That's more or less why I've decided to go with a different offset front. RE71Rs and the like need to be flipped anyway, so it makes sense.

There must be a reason why Ford race the Mustang with 285/35/19 after all :)

I appreciate all the help. The more I'm looking into it, the more I'm thinking I might just go with a 19x10 or 19x10/11 setup. I'm leaning towards 19x10 all around with 285/35 RE-71R tires or maybe a 19x10/11 with 285/35 & 305/30 since I'll only be using them for maybe 4-5 track days a year. As much as I'd like to go with the 19x11 square setup, I'd rather avoid getting new hubs, longer studs, spacers, etc. and I really don't feel like having the studs sticking out an inch past the wheels on my daily set. My main concern is while 285 should be good for someone of my track experience, I'm hoping it will be enough for awhile, assuming I get better/faster on the track.

285 is plenty. I run 305/35/18 for track and a staggered 305/285 19 for daily. I run extended studs with a 25mm spacer for the track. They really don't look bad with extended lugs and studs.

Which lugs?
Pretty sure they were monster 14 x 1.5 open ended lugs. I purchased the plastic caps for the rears since they dont have extended studs. I wouldn't recommend the plastic caps though since they don't really look better, make the front and rear lugs not interchangeable, and like to loosen up over time.
I use ford performance open ended 21mm lugs for the track wheels.

I think it was these.

That looks good. My main concern is my car is a daily and parked outside 24/7, having the studs exposed to the elements seems like a bad idea for someone like me. I'm also thinking since I'm going with a quality tire like the RE-71R, 285 should be good for me, at least until I get a few more seasons of experience. The tires I ran on my first day were the stock 265/35/20 summer Pirellis on my 36lb 20" factory wheels, so these 285's will be about .4" shorter, .8" wider, and have much better grip while on a lighter (probably 24lb wheel). I would think with a lighter wheel and better tire, braking should improve as well.

What rotors are on your car?

Those are the Steeda 2 piece.
