Hi everyone,

So I was looking at Lethal performance and found that they have the SLP Loudmouth II axelback exhaust. After an exhausting search (pun intended), I couldn't find any videos of a 2015 mustang v6 with this setup. Does anyone here have this setup (stock resonator still on)? If so, how do you like it? Is there a lot of drone?

I am considering this setup because I have seen a couple of videos of a 2015 GT with the Loudmouth II's and I like how it sounded (yes I know my car won't sound like a GT and I don't want it to, but I like to overall tone of the system).

Many thanks

Wow...looks like these are just too new...I don't want to pull the trigger until I have an idea of what these would sound like on my 6...especially since I could not imagine living with an exhaust system that creates drone).

Here is a clip of what they sound like on a V8 so it gives some indication of tone (if anything its just a fun video to watch...hopefully the uploader is on these forums).

And for those who are wondering what type of sound i am looking for, the video approximates the tone and loudness. In short
I am looking for a sound that is mellow, but gets a little naughty at WOT. I was thinking about BORLA, but very expensive and there are not enough clips out to do proper research (any BORLA representatives on this forum...please help up out here).

Thanks

Hey jperls,

Was not sure if you knew this. Roush owns SLP. They purchased them some years back. Even the exhaust looks the same as my Roush exhaust.

But, ya. the V8 makes a great tone.

No...I was not aware that Roush owns SLP...THe reason why I like this exhaust is because it is partly reminiscent of a European sports car and with the exterior (and interior) modifications I have done (and plan to do)...it would seem to fit the character of the car.

I wish you the best in your decision. I have the 3.7 also. The only warning if it is the same as the Roush. There is the Drone around 1,800 - 2,100 RPM. Take a look at your driving style before making a decision. Look at the RPM's that is where the auto sit most of the time. Unless you run it hard or in sport mode. Then it sounds great.

Hope this helps you

Thanks...I take it you have the Roush axel-back...just out of curiosity, do you have a spare tire or not...? Supposedly having one might help reduce drone (rubber absorbs extra vibration/changes resonance frequency of the car.

Currently I have no spare in the back. On some trips I have had the rear trunk are full. This made no difference in the sound. But, If you place the back seat down. It does allow the sound to get loader. Maybe the best options would be to install some sound proofing material.
Again, I wish you the best of luck in your decision. It's not so easy.
