Lost power due to the storm, running my generator for now but I suspect I will need gas at some point and due the number of downed trees/power lines police has a curfew in place (plus even if they didnt, I would have stayed home anyways). Anyways, I know the siphoning tricks (done it before on other cars) and just out of curiosity i tried opening the gas tank and see how hard it would be. Looks like there is a mechanism there that prevents this. Does anyone know of a way to go around it?

Thanks

go into your trunk on the left side in the rear under the lip is the plastic filler nozzle for emergencies. take that and put it in your gas tank fill port and use a hose small enough to get through the filler nozzle and you can siphon gas just like a normal car.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that funnel is there to siphon gas (altho works for that) but to add gas in a road side emergency. Otherwise it would have come with a small hose for that purpose.

You are right that it's not there to siphon gas. But the funnel facilitates siphoning gas by opening the door that seals the tube and providing an open passage to the tank for a small hose.
