Im a troll because I don't believe that race gas does anything for a stock car? Im obsessed with the gt350 , I was the first here to post photos of a Magnetic gt350 with blue stripes.Serious guys stop feeding the troll. Some folks still think the world is flat and use "every map I've seen is flat" as their anecdotal evidence
That's fine. Don't believe us. Hook up with your old dyno friends and see for yourself. Being surprised and being a non believer are two different things. It's up to you to decide. Nobody he is lying to you. And honestly I can careless if you don't believe me. And as far as the PM you sent me, I have headers and a tune. That's the only non stock parts I have on my power train.Im a troll because I don't believe that race gas does anything for a stock car? Even the person who gained hp with 98 over 91 said he was surprised as his 2014 boss 302 made nothing more with 98.
Its not like im stupid and every car is going to make more power on 100 octane , its seems that the gt350 may be the exception , but im still not convinced.
Are you being ignorant or just plan like to argue? When I dynoed my car on 93 octane I pulled 511rwhp. With Sunoco 260gt 100 octane I pulled 529rwhp. I still believe more is to be had in my car. Time will tell. I can't understand why it's so hard for you to realize that race fuel / E85 provides more power to the gt350. It's pretty simple logic.
This is all in my ARH GT350 thread. But to answer your question.Voodoo
When u dynoed your car on 93 what engine / exhaust mods did you have and were you running a tune ?
Thanks
You asked a question, got a few answers confirming that race gas results in small gains, even went so far as to post a dyno chart explicitly answering your own question. Then you refute this hard data (that is backed by others) in favor of your own opinion, which is based off tribal/anecdotal evidence and other experience with completely unrelated cars.Im a troll because I don't believe that race gas does anything for a stock car? missing the point, higher octane changes the driving behavior of the car and widens the power band by giving you usable torque a couple hundred rpms earlier, thus the same general pull from 3.4-4k as 3.7-4.3k with 93.Are you serious ? Do you really think that you can run faster with less rpm with a octane change? You realize that even if your gt350 made 1000 hp at any rpm in any gear on both cars are going to be going the same speed no matter what hp, it may get to 150 quicker but that speed at rpm wont change. You also state that your transmission runs cooler with 100 octane![]()
For me, within 10-15 miles. Might depend on how empty your tank may be. It can take a bit longer for KAM and ecu adjustments to adjust completely but the power comes on pretty quick. When you first started using race gas, did it take a few fill ups to adapt, or was it noticeable right away?
Slightly.Does the 100 octane gas smell like race gas? That alone is worth the extra coin!
I believe klotz is MMT freeSo are there any octane Booster that work well that don't contain MMT?
I made it through the weekend on 93 octane... here is a thread about my experience http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60830How about returning to the original questions? The OP says it is his first track event in the GT350 and from his tone I gather he is not a seasoned track rat. Whether race gas increases power or not is irrelevant. It isn't a race and the last thing that will hold him back is lack of power. What race gas on a race track does offer is insurance. It is extremely unlikely that the car would suffer a catastophic failure due to lack of octane, but it is not impossible. My son ran an HPDE at Buttonwillow in his 2015 STi with 91 octane pump gas and broke a ringland, necessitating a rebuild (which the dealer warrantied). He'd never had a problem before but the conditions happened to be right for disaster that day. Had he filled up with race gas that likely would not have happened.
