These units come from the same manufacturer (Sintegrate).
Raxiom/Rosen just put their sticker on the back of the unit to make it look like it's theirs.

Functionality-wise: they are exactly the same, the only difference is the UI (MFT & Sync 3).
The only difference I can point is the boot screen which can be changed to the pony logo.

I saw the post about getting the OBD info to work. Would a bluetooth obd reader/scanner hooked up to the unit/phone get that job done? Seems like a cool idea to have coolant temp/etc displayed on the screen.

I decided to pull the Moddiction unit out and install one of the SD card extenders I bought. To prevent the SD card from unclipping, I added some 30lb mounting tape to hold the ribbon cable down, then a peice of mounting tape across the top to ensure it can't pop up. Might be a big extreme, but I'm not a huge fan of pulling this stuff a part.

While I pulled everything a part, I figured I'd share some rattle dampening I did, as well as a preventative measure I took so clips don't break and fall into my dash.

Insulation foam strips placed all around the dash where the trim clips down. This has proven to help eliminate creeks.

I wrapped black electrical tape across the back of the retaining clips. This does make the trim a bit easier to pull out (not super easy, the clips still clip in), but if a clip decided to break, the tape would hold it in place and prevent it from falling into the dash.

Hope this helps anyone else with the Moddiction unit out. Hopefully this is the last time I pull the dash trim off for this. :amen:

Took the plunge and ordered a unit from Ayham. Can't wait for it to get here!

your screen UI looks like an update happened...I have been off the forums for a bit but did one occur? If so, I need to find time to pull my shit apart and do what you did!

This is the Moddiction unit that's running a Sync3 theme. Far as I know, the music screen has never changed. I was running a the 7-22 update in that pic. The current 8-24 one is no different.

Has anyone been able to hack or modify the Sintegrate software? I'm wondering what type of software is needed to view/unpack the updates. Trying to see if I replace the bootleg pony startup logo with the real Ford one.

The boot logo is a file called "backcar.mrf" in the update package, this file is obsolete so it has to come from Sintegrate.

I managed to change it the Ford logo with the white background (you can see it in the earlier posts) but couldn't do any other logo.

I'm assuming the geniune ford pony boot up logo isn't going to be an .mrf file, it wouldn't be that easy to swap it out :tsk:

The mrf file is just an image file but I haven't figured out how to convert a jpg or gif to mrf.
I used a tool but no luck.

Yeah, I'm going to have to do similar, I have some creaks in my dash from the last time I pulled it apart.

How's your 'creak-proofing' holding up?

I may have a tool that will do this. I'll check and let you know.

These oddball, old, file formats are tricky. Finding a piece of software to read them is usually easy. Finding one to save to that type, or edit it, is way more difficult.

It's holding up well. If you push on the trim, you can still hear the plastic flex/creek (no fixing that), but other than that everything is nice and firm.

These pics were taken after I had put electrical tape over the clips. As you can see, it held up nicely and made pulling the trim out a tad bit easier. No more concerns of breaking clips and having them fall into the dash!

As for other rattles I have in the dash, I may tear into those one day. They're intermittent right now.

I've got the gps unit and everything connected. Everything works except the rear defroster. I took apart the unit and reassembled making sure the circuit board and back playe screws were good. Still no rear defroster. Any ideas?
