"Including the GMC Sierra 1500, which was also redesigned at the same time, GM’s full-size pickup share was down 3 percentage points in the first five months of 2019 compared with the same period a year earlier.

With the Sierra, GM remains in second place in the full-size segment, behind Ford Motor Co.

But GM executives insist the shake-up in a closely watched battle with major image and profit implications isn’t a sign of trouble. They say the trucks’ launch is going as planned and that GM is focused on profits, not market share."

Same line they've repeated endlessly with the Camaro...

LOL.

Those new Silverados are uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuugly. X100 on the upcoming new HD pickups, which go beyond typical adjectives regarding hideousness.

Terrible looking vehicle on all sizes, but I agree the HD is a new level of bad.

I actually thought the press release on the HDs was a joke at the time.....

It's like they looked to vintage industrial air conditioners for 'styling' inspiration.

If true, kind of stupid to say it. Not good marketing to admit you mark your stuff up more than the competition.

Agreed. Either way, they almost certainly NEVER build their program business cases on selling less than they did before for a product like this. They said the same about Camaro when there were over 120 days of inventory on lots...

Yeah, with 4 months sitting, they should have changed up and claimed having the cars parked was to reduce global warming.

Even the 10 year old challenger outsold the camaro a month or two back.. Chevy needs to take a look at their marketing big time.

Their marketing stinks.

Evidence: the ever-awful Chevy commercials. Gag.

No, they need to fire their styling group.

Them poor chevy truck diehards...had to settle on that sad looking redesign years ago and the looks still haven't improved much...seems to have followed the same path of the new camaro...I do think the chevy truck drls look neat..the whole headlight reminds me of more Transformers looks.. .

Wow....looking back on the topic, I haven't truly liked the look of a Chevy 1/2-ton truck since pre-'99....

The only thing I like about the new one is the LED DRLs, kind of cool from a dead-on front view. The things I dislike start with that weird curved body line running from the fender into the door that doesn't correlate to anything else or repeat, which is just bad design. Taillights. blech. The late '80s called, they want their lame, overstyled exhaust tips back. Etc....
