Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere, but ...... HOW THE F:censored:K DO YOU REMOVE THE SIDE LIGHTS! :frusty:

Managed to do the LED swap for DRL's (all good), indicators (Fail; from the outside they work ok, but get the double speed clicking business on the dash so put the old ones back in), fog lights (Fail; diameter of bulb too big) - but the side lights seem to be impossible to get out! The manual says 'just pull' .... is that right, or do you need to twist it like all the others?

The most unbelievable bulb changing system I've ever come across! It's like Ford have gone out of their way to make it as awkward as possible.

On the positive side, the new strut brace looks good :)

Undo the plug for the wiring.
Then get a torch, shine in.
Pair of pliers or needle pliers. Turn anti clock wise, They are tight

Yep ..... those! :)

Good grief Ford, just to change a bulb I've got my body contorted into strange positions while working blind with my forearm shoved into a tight orifice ...... I'm not f:censored:king James Herriot! :D

Cheers. I'll give it a go ..... but worried I'll break the plastic with pliers. Still .... I've started so I'll finish :)

There is an issue with the switchback indicators (If that is what you tried to fit) causing fast clicking in the cabin, they need a resister fitted.

Just grab one side, Not both sides,
Cheers, will do. I've given up for now - I'll have another go in the near future ...... when the skin has grown back on my forearms :)

At least the nearside DRL was much easier to change than the offside.

Cheers. No, they were just a straight indicator bulb swap - standard for LED. The new bulbs were supposed to be some super-duper LED, CREE, Canbus things that didn't need additional resistance in the circuit. They'll be going back to the shop.

Where did you get them from?

Diode Dynamics specifically mentions without the resistor that their bulbs will cause the rapid click in the cabin although visually the bulbs still work as normal so would presume that other similar LEDs will have the same issue.

Took me ages to do mine, easier if you remove the indicator bulb first as it gives you better access. Use pliers though, you will not do it by hand.

Sidelight really tricky, and needed assistance from a couple of the fine chaps on here. As mentioned, i used the needle-nosed pliers but did grip the entire bulb holder. It flexed but did not distort to the extent that the cable would not fit back on so i wouldnt worry too much. Could just be my perception but it seemed easier to both turn anticlockwise whilst pulling, one quarter turn. The manual is a bum steer...

Can't remember specifically where I got them - but it was a specialist auto-bulb retailer (via internet). As mentioned, they were supposed to be the all-singing, all-dancing version with no extra resistors required - which should mean no rapid click from the dash. I've already had to send them back once as the original owners manual specified the incorrect bulb type. Most frustrating.

This video makes it look so easy, odd how ours are so tight fitting.
