$11 at IKEA, one hole saw + a table I don't care for. We actually did 2 of them, that's my fiancees side.

There is no fucking way I'm putting a wireless charger in my car lol.

I'm happy with the wireless charging on these phones. I remember when my fiancees brother got a Samsung S7 with wireless charging the phone got so hot it would shut down and after reading reviews with a bunch of other wireless chargers, I figured it was the nature of that charging style. But with this phone and a cheap-o furniture store charger, it works perfectly.

Can I see the underside of that table? Great idea.

I don't have any pictures of it right now.

I drilled straight through it, it's only like 1" thick and taped the cord up underneath it. The charger itself is black, we intend on painting the end tables to match it (somewhat). She didn't like the end tables and was going to spend a ton of money on new ones, so I convinced her that $22 worth of wireless chargers and a rattle can will be a nice upgrade.

I got away lucky on that one.

I've been using wireless charging since my old Palm Pre (RIP) so I'm just happy to see phone makers starting to catch on. For most of my phones I've just bought a Qi receiver that fits either behind the battery door or underneath a case.

Just about every Qi charger I've tried has worked just fine. I have a generic charging stand on my nightstand that takes care of 90% of my charging. The version I have isn't sold anymore but any two coil charging stand that is highly reviewed on Amazon will probably work fine.

You want at least two coils so your phone's receiver will line up with one of the coils where ever it is on the phone and also in either orientation.

For that same reason I've found the "puck" style chargers to be annoying. You have align your phone right to get it lined up and it may or may not lie flat in that position.

I don't charge in my current car since I don't have a hidden outlet and I hate the clutter. But once I have my Mustang I'll be looking for a charging stand or holder that will tuck nicely into the center console.

I don't have a picture of me using it. But I have the convertible wireless charger from Samsung. I have to get a new case for my phone cause my Otterbox doesn't work with the wireless charger. But I love it. And plus I dyed my Otterbox purple. Oops.

Do those have magnets that will align the charging coil and the receiver? The old Palm chargers and phones had that and it made puck chargers work great. Without them I find it's a pain getting things aligned to charge and too easy to bump them put of position.
No, it's pretty basic.

I can understand it might be annoying that it doesn't automatically align it, but so far I haven't had any issues at all getting it lined up. I usually will just set it down and it's close enough to charge.

My fiancee has a thicker case on her phone so hers needs to be lined up a bit better than mine does but she enjoys it as well.

After extensively researching wireless chargers WITH magnetic mounting, a friend and I (we are both S550 owners) found the XVIDA products. They use magnets in their phone cases AND in the docks, for ultimate retention strength (cheaper products only use magnets in the dock, with only a thin metal sticker on the phone). The square magnet pattern allows you to instantly change between portrait and landscape, and it locks into the exact same spot every single time. Also the Qi charging is concentrated into the phones receiver, unlike the big pad chargers that you have to fiddle around with trying to find the "best spot". XVIDA's products appear to be high quality and well designed. I plan to stick a RAM mount base and arm to the right side of the center console (credit to another forum member for the image below), and put the XVIDA dock on the end of the arm. Run one tiny (like 6" or less) micro-USB cable from the power outlet into the dock and you're done. Get in your Mustang and set the phone against the dock and it will magnetically mount and start charging, then just pick it up when you get out of the car. NO CABLES and no rattling in a cup-holder or sliding out of your lap and under the seat.

Check out their site: XVIDA

If you're like me and you put your phone away in the car, you could add a wireless charging solution to the center console box. Though, I don't know why you'd bother since you can just plug it in there instead. If you want to mount it in view, those XVIDA mounts and cases (you need both) are pretty slick.
