Thought about putting this in the "show me your stripes" topic but thought answers might be biased. I have a black 2015 ecoboost and I'm interested in getting the matte black over the top stripes with no pinstripes. I love the look on the back of the car but not so sure about the front. The only one I've seen in person was black with red over the top stripes. I've never had vinyl stripes on my cars before except my 1999 mustang 35th anniversary I had about 10 years ago and it didn't hold up too well. Anyone have any reasons not to get vinyl stripes? Opinions on stripes for this car?

Good questions, I was having similar thoughts about a simple, plain matte black over the top stripe on my Magnetic. Subtle, but visible.

Similar questions about the "vinyl experience". If there are problems down the road, does removing the stripe leave a scar on the paint (e.g. varying exposures to UV)?

If removed properly, there should be no damage to the paint. There will however be some fading of the surrounding paint, so the area where the stripe was will be darker and more vivid than where it wasn't.

I'm planning on putting white "Stallion" stripes on my DIB GT. If the white is too stark a contrast, I'll swap 'em out for a metallic silver. Shame that I can't seem to find anybody who makes a reflective stripe set.

I'm debating this as well for my Magnetic. Perhaps going either matte or gloss Black with red pinstripes on my Magnetic. I'm wondering if I should go the clean look route or if I should add the stripes. Plus the maintenance and wear issues that I'm not 100% convinced about yet. I've always wanted stripes on my mustang but now that I have it, im just not sure. I could also go with a strip on the hood only, so idk. The kid in me wants the stripes. The 46 year old that I am kinda likes how high dollar and sleek the car looks as is..

Possible solution: get some magnetic stripes. I used them on my old MINI S. Put them on when I wanted the look. Took them off when I didn't. It is important that you have the area clean and no dust prior to putting on the stripes. I did get over my stripe fixation with my 2 MINI's('05 MCS and '09 JCW).

The BigWorm stripes hold up well and should you not like them, come off with relative ease.

Here's my take. I love stripes, but I don't see the point in adding stripes unless it stands out. Matte black stripes on a black car doesn't stand out, and just looks a bit weird to me. An accent color pinstripe really sets them off (even white is fine), but matte black on it's own? I wouldn't bother.

I think you should also look at dark gray stripes instead of black.. or perhaps a matte silver.. they would be subtle but stand out as well.. Just a thought. I always loves the 66 Shelby GT350 H black with Gold stripes.. Gold is a bit passé today, so Silver may be better. The matte finish is like a satin finish anyway so there is some shine no matter the color. I too am debating this in my head.. so I know where you are coming from. Let me know what you decide.. :headbang::headbang::headbang:

To each his own, but I think the car looks much better without them, particularly the darker colors.
