Shopping cart attack ends well

March 14, very windy and I made the mistake of parking in a Nationally known building supply parking lot. Came out to find cart plowed into car. It was an awkward spot and right down to bare metal. Not happy
because body was perfect.
Took some pics, went back in and filled out a report. The manager said I would be contacted within a week. Immediately took Mustang to my body shop for estimate of almost $700. (I have $500 deductible on comprehensive coverage). The hardware chain's insurance called two days later. I sent pictures and description.
A week later they called with an offer: for the amount of the estimate leaving me somewhat stunned. Week later and check arrives in mail. Made appointment at body shop. Picked Mustang up today and paid in cash S/A estimate. No insurance involved.
Conclusion: Some stores still conduct business in an ethical manner and I'm going to look into lowering the deductible on my comprehensive. Might not be so lucky next time.

Did the body shop do a PDR on that and then glaze over with some filler? Looks great!

Thanks, well, I didn't ask. The est. said R+i bumper cover. I can see they pulled the trunk liner. He's been in business for at least 40 years and I've known him for thirty and he does it right. Also ,walking distance from home, so that helps.

Good recovery! I think my wife's DDRT got hit by a cart, about the right height, though it seemed to be more of a glaze, so it [mostly] buffed out with some polishing compound.

It NEVER ceases to amaze me of the people that; empty the cart, pull it out of the
way letting it go...wherever... and then they drive off.
Usually I can't see the car when it hits..............................

way letting it go...wherever... and then they drive off.
Usually I can't see the car when it hits..............................

It drives me insane when people leave the carts just chillin wherever. Usually I park way out in BFE in my car or truck so I don’t catch an errant cart but it amazes me how many people just leave them. Especially the extra lazy ones who are right next to the corral and still leave them out.
