Well despite Ford saying they would not build Mustangs with Cup tires during the winter, mine was built on 12/4 and is suppose to be at my dealer Dec 27th/Jan 2nd. My dealer is in Georgia and my garage is in Virginia. From stalking the other threads it looks like I should do at minimum two things. 1.) Have someone inspect the vehicle when it arrives at the dealer. 2.) Have the Shelby shipped via enclosed trailer. So my question to you guys is...... Does anyone live near Chatsworth GA that could inspect my Shelby?...... and ........ What company would you guys recommend for having the Shelby shipped? Oh..... one last question, should I have the front splitter left in the box and the shipping blocks kept in? I appreciate any response, and I did try to research these items on the forum before asking.

Recommend Intercity enclosed trailer. Usually about $1 per mile

No shipping blocks unless it’s an R.
Wait for a window in the weather and rent a car down and drive her home. Is that even possible?
From what I understand “Reliable” car transport is right up there with the best. That’s who I was going to use until I found a more local deal.

Its about a 10 hour drive from Georgia to my part of Virginia. I would love to drive her home, but I think the weather could get sketchy, and those Cup tires seem to be unfriendly. The kick in the pants is we are moving from Virginia to Las Vegas in June, so I will be paying shipping ($$$) in the summer as well.

I paid Reliable Carriers $1.27 a mile for enclosed transport (1238 miles). I was very pleased with them. They picked it up sooner than anticipated and delivered it way faster than promised as well.

Also recommend InterCity Lines, great equipment, drivers and service. They did not handle my GT350, I used them in 2011 to transport a Porsche from Ohio to MA.

Some items to consider for your GT350 delivery checklist:

1. Perform the Ford Pre-Delivery Inspection checklist, except as noted in items 2 - 11.
2. Window Sticker - leave it on or dealer remove?
3. Copy the certificate of origin before it goes to the registry.
4. Drill holes and mount front license plate holder? There are kits to avoid the holes if you prefer. 5. Polyurethane shipping blocks removed.
6. Wash the car or not?
7. Full tank of gas or not? If yes, someone will drive your car to the gas station.
8. Plastic covers on seats, other plastic protective material, remove or not?
9. Front splitter installation by dealer or you? I spoke with the service manager at my dealership and he was aware of the GT350 splitter installation and procedure, confirmed no problem to have two techs to help with proper alignment and installation of the hardware.
10. Reminder to take the car out of Transport Mode.
11. Confirm wheel lug nuts torqued to 150 ft-lbs, tire pressure 32PSI

Congrats and I hope all goes well with your delivery.

Going to fill out these questions, and email them to my dealer. Some of these had crossed my mind, and others I had no clue. Really appreciate this, and now my dealer will have these requests in writing.... so no he said she said business.

I also have used intercity lines twice, and was completely satisfied with their white glove treatment, and great communication.

A good friend of mine used reliable a few times and says they were equally as good.

Passport and Horseless carriage are also some of the bigger companies often mentioned.

I would suggest that you did not order an R model based on your production date therefore some of your questions are really not relevant to an R model but more surrounding a GT350?

You are correct Sir, I just ordered the regular 350. I assumed (incorrectly) the base 350 came with shipping blocks because my ZL1 did and I believe my CTS-V did as well. My apologizes, I thought it was a performance car thing. I also assumed the base 350 and R were given the same tires for 2020 minus the size. We absolutely would have loved to ordered a R, if it came with a backseat. I promised the wife I would never spend(significant)money on a depreciating assest if the whole family (wife/son/myself) could not enjoy it together. We have been taking family Sunday cruises since my little guy was two years old. I guess if I ever get supercar money I am stuck in one of those wonky AWD Ferrari's or a 911 lol. I had come across some threads were guys had installed backseats, but I could not bring myself to alter a special car like the R. I have read that the R sits lower and I am familiar with its kitchen table front splitter. So it sounds as if (base 350 owners jump in) there are no real issues daily driving the base car? Tires aside, I am speaking mostly of ground clearrance.

Thats is amazing to hear, we will be in Vegas in the summer, and I would love to get use out of the Shelby most of the year. We have extra cars, but if the weather is nice I would love to able to just grab the keys to the Shelby without thinking about beating it up too much.

Especially in Vegas, you'll be able to drive it most of the year. My car has turned into a weekend car with Covid and working from home, miss driving it every day!

The GT350’s tires still have limitations with cold temps. I believe it’s 45F. I really have pushed the envelope at 39 and took it easy ;-)
Seriously though, Vegas will have other potential problems in the summer months with excessive heat. If you get stuck in traffic, things get mighty toasty.
Take what those of us from California say with a grain of salt. The weather here can vary greatly, all depends on where you live.
