Hello,

Was looking to get to install a new shifter. Boomba with shifter bracket or MGW? Any thoughts would be much appreciated and thanks in advance:).

If you want a 'New' shifter than get the MGW (it completely replaces the stock components) If you only care about it being shorter than get the Boomba as it is still the same shifter just shorter.

My 2¢ get the MGW...

I have the Boomba and I really like it. I have read that some of the other shifters generate vibration and noise into the car so look into that. If you have a daily driver like I do I think the Boomba does the job. I have zero negative things to say about mine.

I've got the Barton. No increase in NVH, great shifts. Much better than stock. I've driven in a GT with an MGW installed, solid and precise shifts, but you do have some vibration. I'm very happy with the Barton and you can pick one up on eBay for $350.

The MGW and Steeda seem pretty difficult to install. I'm leaning toward to the Boomba since you don't have to drop the driveshaft or mess with the transmission. Plus $220 from the shifter and bracket seem like a good price.

You don't drop transmission or the driveshaft with mgw. You loosen the back mount of the transmission but that's about it.

Plus install is free at mgw!

Do it right the first time and spend the extra cash on the MGW. The new compact version makes the install even easier and the product is insanely higher quality than the Boomba.
