Shifter and Transmission getting hot

Anyone else have had issues with the transmission tunnel getting hot and the shift nob as well? The issue started just by being in stop and go traffic. My car is a GT PP. Any info is appreciated.

cool just noticed it today stuck in stop and go traffic but temperature outside was 68 degrees and it got warm enough that it felt like heated cupholders!

Yea mines feel like that in the hot summer i was worried got a bit hot right by my right leg but its normal

My AT gets warm by my leg, too.
It's not the transmission. It's the cats.

I had that same problem, once I got rid the stock exhaust with the resonator, was no longer warm. The resonator got so hot that parts of it changed color and it's made from stainless too

im sure yall realize that the exhaust passes by the same area where the transmission is?

Yeah, the shifter in my GT heats up pretty well. Cold drinks definitely don't stay cold long in the cupholders.

yup it was the stock exhaust replaced it with Corsa Sport exhaust no more red hot shifter and r model right about the resonator look at the pic

That's my concern too. I have cats but no resonator. Shifter & boot trim gets warm when I drive it hard. 2017 GT
