to add, here's what has been in my cars.

Grabber Blue/White knob in my '13 GT, no recess.
Yellow/Black knob in my '14 ST, recessed.
1st Ruby Red/Black knob in my '16 GT, recessed

2nd picture of the ruby red, it's obviously scuffed to shit. I removed it from the car and more or less destroyed it.. long story. lesson learned, don't use red locktite on a shift knob, ever.

I'll post up my Ruby Red/White knob when it arrives tomorrow.
Where you get the ruby red knob?

My new knob came today. As I mentioned, I really didn't care for the contrast of the dark red metallic w/ black graphics on my first shift knob (plus it was recessed) so my new one arrived today. same dark red metallic that pretty much matches the ruby red of the car w/ white graphics. yeah yeah, i know my car has black stripes, but now it has white stripes inside, i guess.

Despite how it might photograph, this is not a bright red, this is in fact a dark red metallic that is damn close to ruby red's actual color.

as mentioned, i got mine directly from Epco.

They are the company that actually makes all of these that everybody else resells like speeddawg, americanmuscle, cjponyparts, etc.

MGW mentioned in another thread that Epco makes their "classic" white and "classic" black shift knobs as well.

Does your new one require an adapter? The pics are confusing me, because I don't see where you pull up the reverse lockout. Also, I looked on Epco's site, but don't see where to specify the size of the opening to clear the reverse lockout. Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.

I have a MGW shifter, so I have a push down reverse lockout.

I would assume you'd just put that in the comments that you need the knob recessed for the reverse lockout. normally in the past I bought all of mine from their reseller, speeddawg. in the thread size dropdown you can select the recessed.

mine is a custom color combo, so i went directly through epco

TheDivaDanielle (thanks again)

Just ordered through speeddawg. Went with what you have (rally with ford racing logo). Your pics convinced me.

Black with white graphics (since I have ceramic cloth interior and gt350 steering)
6 speed upper left
12mm x 1.25 recessed

So stoked! Does it come with loctite or should I purchase separate?

actually they're jerks and don't give a jam nut or anything. use just a dab and I seriously mean a DAB of blue locktite. don't be like me and screw up.

The design of the shifter with the pull up reverse lock out won't allow for the use of a jam nut so why would one be provided?

The little packet of locktite is more than enough, I didn't even use it all and mine and it has been on a secure for over a year now.

I think maybe because you have the adapter?

they don't provide anything at all. when I've ordered it through Epco, I've gotten locktite/jam nut. one of them, w/ speeddawg, they have given me nothing in all cases.

No adapter. I have a 15-16 specific shift knob, even the factory knob does not have a jam nut.

The factory reverse lock out sits in a counter bore on the bottom of the knob and goes further into the counter bore when you lift the ring. There is no way you can get at a jam nut to tighten it against the knob and it will take up space needed for the lock out ring to move.

The factory knob has tapered threads that get tight when you screw it on and holds it in place. The after market knob I have has straight threads and uses loctite to keep it in place.

Well the one I got from CJ Pony came with a little packet of blue locktite and an instruction sheet. If they sent you a jam nut it is a wasted part because you can't use it with the factory shifter.
