The shifter is stuck in park on my 2015 GT. The first thing I checked was the brake on/off fuse which is good so I took it in the shop. They found that the interlock solenoid was good so they ended up replacing the brake switch. This, however, did not fix the problem. They found that as long as they had their diagnostic tablet connected they could turn on and off the shift interlock. They told me I will probably need a software reflash. Has anyone else had this problem?

Ah yes, the "can't properly diagnose a problem so point at the mysterious computer box". Take it somewhere else.

Thanks, I have it scheduled to go to the Ford Dealership. The mechanic actually didn't charge me a dime since they couldn't fix it.

Did they check under the console for any loose connections at the shifter base? Did they check under the car for any harnesses near or around the trans or trans tunnel for any chafing, loose connectors, etc?

Their excuse of es ring to reflash the PCM won’t fix any such issues noted above.

Before the failure presented itself, did you do any recent mods or maintenance yourself?

They seemed to be pretty thorough and they specialize in electrical work. It was interesting to see that everything worked correctly as long as they had the diagnostic tablet connected. I did put in a cold air intake (I have done several with no problem) right before this all happened which I told them. I am hoping they can figure this out at the Ford Dealership. The car only has 32,000 miles on it.
