Shelby GT350 Ford Spare Tire Kit

Anyone know definitively whether the Ford Mustang Spare Tire Kit (FR3Z-1K007-C) will work with the GT350? I have a 2018. And does it fit in the trunk space, under the mat? I get different answers on parts sites on whether this is compatible with a GT350, although a Ford parts dealer told me it should work:

I know the standard tire sizes on the GT350 are different front and back, but is there any reason why you couldn't limp home in an emergency on this spare tire on the front or back? Am I missing something?

(Sorry if this topic has already has been addressed elsewhere on the forum, but I searched extensively and couldn't find an answer, although there have been discussions about aftermarket spare tire kits.)

I will let the experts chime in but I would have a hard time believing that it would fit over the Brembo calipers.

It will not clear the calipers.

The only off-the-shelf option I know of is the Automotive Authority LLC spare tire. I have that, as do many other members. They include a spacer in their GT350 kit that allows the spare to fit on the front.

Edit: Forgot to mention that it does fit under the mat in the trunk.

Great, guys, thanks! What's frustrating is that a Ford dealer used my GT350 VIN as a compatibility check on this Ford part, and he said his computer showed that it "fits." I wonder why.

I don’t think anyone has tried to know for sure. I think that it would be safe to say that even if it cleared the calipers, there would be a spacer needed for the front like the AA spare tire.

I wonder if the AA guys ever tried if the Ford spare would fit. I kind of assume they have or they would not have come up with a new, more expensive solution. But that is just another guess.

I posed the same question to the GT350 tech folks at Ford Performance, and they confirmed the Mustang Spare Tire Kit will NOT fit a GT350. However, they emailed me this list of Ford parts that make up a GT350 spare tire kit for countries that mandate spare tires.

So, here is what is needed to put together a Ford Performance GT350 Spare Tire Kit. Seems to me it's just an extra front wheel/tire with a bunch of bits and pieces:

I custom made one that will fit in the spare wheel well and will clear front and rear brembos...
