We have a 2 car garage. My Mustang and my wife's Infiniti FX35 are kept there.
My car is on the left. How do I teach my wife to open her car door and make sure it does not touch my car? I keep the R mirror folded---that helps a bit. I park very close to the left wall. To get in and out the car I have to squeeze my stomach in and I hold the door's leading edge with my hand so my hand touches the wall, not the driver's door. Every time after my wife leaves or arrives I go and inspect my car to see the that there are no marks spoiling the Guard paint.
I have suggested that the garage become a one car garage (for my Mustang) but I am not winning that debate. I have offered to give her lessons in opening a car door (she could also use lessons in closing a car door). My fear is that our garage is more dangerous than a supermarket parking lot.

Why not switch sides? You take the right and she takes the left. That way when she opens the door she can only hit the wall.

You let her drive the Infiniti in on the left side and back the mustang in on the right side. Both as closetothe wall as dared. Leaves plenty of room in the garage to get in and out of the vehicle without impacting the other car.

Why don't you just leave the Mustang outside?

Switching sides is the easiest. This is what my wife and I do. Otherwise you could back in, which would allow you to get even closer to the wall because you don't have to open the passenger door in the garage.

Couldn't you just get one of those inflatable thingys (looks like a air mattress for your swimming pool) and just hang it between the cars? It would be ugly and a PITA to walk around but it would prevent damage.

Sup,

Growing up we had a small 2 car garage. My father hung a tennis ball in the middle to make sure you knew how far to pull over and if it hit the car, no big deal.

Switch sides. That's what I did when we had two in the garage

In 11, when I bought my 11 new, she door dinged it. I divorced her.

Seriously that wasn't the reason.

I planned way ahead and built my house with lots of garage space and plenty room between them.
