Hey guys,

So my ecoboost is equipped with the shaker sound system with the factory installed subwoofer in the trunk. I'm a perso. Who likes to listen to my music with a lot of bass, I just always have. So I keep my subwoofer bass settings at max, even at low volumes the sub makes a squeaking noise constantly, I found this out by opening the trunk while playing a song and pinching the middle of the subwoofer and the squeak stopped. Seems like the enclosure is not sealed right which is causing this menacing squeak. So being I have only had the car for about a week I took it back to the dealer and let them assess the car.

So they had it for about 2 days and the result to them was (all of the shakers do this) and its considered normal, solution was turn the bass down 2 increments.

I think this is a poor answer. Why offer expensive equipment options if they can't be used to capacity?

Does anyone else has this same or similar problem?

Well I do, but I don't like it crazy pounding. I really appreciate how the shaker sub sounds, its the right about to me... i just don't like the fluttering and squeaking.

Not saying I'm old, because I'm not but the super loud sound systems just aren't me anymore, i don't have interest in it like I did when i was younger

You could do like two 8" subs with an after market amp and not be crazy loud, and they make bass knobs so you can adjust how much bass you want

Thanks man, I appreciate you reaching out, I think that my enclosure is making this noise though, I'm gonna head out to another ford dealer and see if they have other units that make the same noise. If they do I get it if they don't I'm gonna speak to the service manager and see what they would do. I'm not happy that they told me just to turn down the bass levels.. I shouldn't have too especially on a car that has 700 miles on it

**update**

This speaking sound is starting to get worse. I'm going to take a video today and post it up here because this is unacceptable. It sounds like my rear window is coming loose all day long driving this car but it's just the sun enclosure. I'm very surprised that my dealer told me that they tested other units and it occurred on all of their tests, but no one else here has posted about the same issue...

I haven't noticed any issues with the sub. I have my sub turned almost all the way up and no issues. One thing I have noticed is it sounds like the rear speakers do almost nothing. From the driver's seat I only hear front speakers. To hear the rear at all, I have to adjust the fader to about 80% to the rear.

Try removing the sub from the enclosure and filling it with polyfill.

How do you turn just the sub volume up?
Just by using the bass level option in the audio settings. Sorry guys for the delay in the video I'm gonna try to get it up today. I REALLY need to know if anyone else thinks the issue I have is consistent with others or if my sub may be defective as my dealer is refusing to fix or replace it.

Mine doesn't squeak and I even modified it to be louder. I wouldn't accept the dealer saying that it is normal, because it isn't.

Hmmm, this cant be to hard of a fix. If your dealer cant help you pop tne cover off and see whats rubbing to cause a squeak. There are many types of insulation tape to be found at hardware stores that could be used to isolate covers/frame. Maybe the mount is slghtly loose. My sub does not have this issue. Your dealer is shining you on. Many threads on removing the sub, very simple.

Good luck!
