so - my TY shadow black already has little bonnet stripes as new -

but I just got faded OTT stripes as well

Question is... Is it all too much?

should I take off the original little bonnet stripes?

I know its a matter of opinion - but I am biased!! :D

the OTT stripes are staying wither way (after the grief with Ford about the paint etc)

Definitely live with it for a while before you take them off. I quite like them.

Looks great, I'd lose the horrible number plate holders though :D

It doesn't look bad at all to be fair, but personally I'd take off the "spears". I'm a man of simple tastes :)

I dont disagree about the plate holder - Unfortunately my "friend" at the dealers just ignored everything and drilled it on anyway - actually it was lopsided (squint) when I got the car - so even as it is is an improvement!

Priority has been to sort out the awful paint issues - still on going - but hopefully on a couple of weeks I can actually get down to driving (and modding) the car!!

Yup, mine did that too ! they offered to source a new bumper but A) cars were rare and parts rarer in 2016 and B) I didn't trust them to match the colour so I just took them off and covered the holes with the new aluminium plates :frusty:

Were the OTT stripes a dealer fit?

Were the OTT stripes a dealer fit?
well - sort of!

The stripes were as compensation for the atrocious state of some parts of the paintwork (brand new car too!) the deal was that they would sort out the paint and then fit the stripes

being a ford dealer, however, they pushed it out to a body shop - who, to be fair did a great job of the paint...

but then refused to fit the stripes (in case they made a mess of it)

so the sales guy at the dealer gave the Mustang to the 8 year old daughter of a passing stranger - who (after careful measuring with a crayon) stuck the stripes on with blue tac and some flour and water paste...:headbonk::headbonk::headbonk:

3 weeks later the new set of stripes have now been delivered - but will, this time, be fitted at my own expense by a real car wrapper and detailer

... sorry but you asked!

Technically they "are a dealer fit" realistically - I wont go near a dealer to get them to do it!!

You should be able to get them from the parts department, as I know a few who have bought them and fitted themselves or farmed it out

The little stripes look a bit too solid in comparison to the faded OTT ones. As though you have just stuck them on like an Airfix kit. I'd take them off.
mmm - a little "controversial" i think - but the little stripes are actually factory fit - part of the Shadow Black model...

and - if you actually look at the shadow model you will see that the "little stripes" fade too - but the in the other direction ...

BUT - I think you are entitled to your opinion - and I did ask!:D:D
