Hey Guys, I have 2 scuff marks from shoes on my door panel that arent coming off with some interior cleaner and microfiber cloths. It isnt a scratch, just a scuff. I wanted to get your opinion on what is the best method for our interiors. There are a few methods out there but i dont know which one to try. Thanks!

There was an older thread on this site where someone tried one of those "Mr. Clean Magic Erasers" on such a scuff and they stated it removed the mark. I would try it on a very small part of the scuff to see if it works - just relaying the info, so I don't know if it works successfully in all instances or not.

The magic erasers work, but you will have to put some vinylX or armor all on when you finish or it will look worse than the scuffs

Is that because that magic eraser is abrasive? I may just have to live with it at this point because I don't want to make it worse. Why on earth does it scuff so easy? My f150 never had this problem!

It doesn't "scuff easily". It's the fact that when you get out of a low car like the mustang, your shoes are more likely to contact the door panel compared with getting out of a truck. The issue can be avoided entirely by being mindful of the door panel when exiting the vehicle.

Even being "mindful" you can still brush your foot against the door. Even the lightest of a touch can scuff this door. In my opinion the plastic does scuff easier, and is harder to clean then cars/trucks I have previously owned. I ordered some 1z deep plastic cleaner that is supposed to help clean scuff marks safely, so I will advise for those of us that have scuff marks.

You could get the pre-cut black carbon fiber door guards that are being sold on eBay. They stick to the lower portion of the door panel and prevent the scuffs on the actual panel.

I'm fastidious about not letting my shoes touch mine, all the scuffs I have are from careless techs @ the dealership getting in & out. I can only imagine how crappy they look now that the car has been there 50+ days.

I was actually just thinking about something like this, although I was thinking a carpeted type fabric.

Honestly, this might be the best bet. Plastics never really clean up very nice once damaged.

Those carbon fiber door guards are a good idea! Might have to look into getting a set of those.

Yea I hear ya, the techs aren't always the most careful. I would check it out carefully before you take the car back; if it's all scuffed up have them send it back to the detail department to get cleaned again.
