anyone got any good ideas how to protect the door sill and door from getting marked and worn with shoes hitting them?
I went to Bunnings and found some sticky backed ribbed rubber for adding grip to boats etc but it does not want to stick to the surface I am trying to protect.
Don't want to stick it with glue as it might wreck the surface anyway.
Any other ideas.
I am pretty tall so getting in and out is a bit tight.

I know a lot of people comment on the issue with the steering wheel making it harder to get in, but I never had this issue after the first time I got in and felt like I was going to a yoga class.
So instead of stepping into the car, I sat first then swiveled my legs in. Harder when someone parks close, but never felt like I was auditioning for cirque de solei again :)

Yeah, I kick mine almost every time.
I'm fine if I open the door fully, but almost never have that much open space beside me. I wish other manufacturers would copy Porsche doors. There are more opening indents to choose from and they are spaced better.

I also scuff mine on entry, lucky nothing to drastic so far. I just make sure to wipe it over and clean it every week when I wash it. If I was getting in with boots or something a little harder everyday I'd probably take them off first.

None of the scuffing has left anything permanent.

I bought some Meguiars vinyl & rubber protectant and that seems to have helped remove the scuff marks from the plastic parts of the door sills. I think it will do the job - building up protection if I use it each week. On the metal strip, I will try stainless steel appliance spray - when I get first scratches on that part.

I think the answer is to change your technique for entering and exiting....

Yeah I do the whole swivel, bend and twist as I get in and out.

Must look like some kind of contortionist.

My camera broke shortly before I did the naked backflips on the deck of Parsifal.

What makes it so awkward? Are the Sill plates / pillar really high causing you to have to lift your leg up quite high or something, or??
