SCT X4 Windows 8.1 help needed

I have the drivers from the how to PDF installed for Windows 8. I am still getting an error message in the SCT updater when I try to automatically update or do anything. it says unable to load DLL. the drivers are now up to date which I had to do manually in the device driver.

Did that. Torrie said hes never heard of the error when i sent him pics. Ill have to wait on tech support. I only have 1 computer and its 8.1 sadly. My laptop has 7 and is apart at the moment. Replacing the motherboard. Anyway, for now im at my parents on their win 7 cpu.

You can install the .dll Search the filename in your search engine and copy it to the applicable directory. My guess is that there will be multiple files that are missing. Did you try to install with run as administrator?

I know this is an old tread but somehow got it to work on Windows 8.1 64bit
successfully installed SCT Device Updater, but it would not detect the SCT X4. after looking at Device Manager and seeing that the driver was not being loaded, I fixed it by doing the following.
1. I run the C:\Program Files (x86)\SCT\SCT Device Updater\SCTDriversV1011x64.exe and selected repair
2. Then in Device Manager right click the unrecognized SCT X4 to update the driver
3. Browsed for the driver in c:\windows\inf and then the drivers got loaded correctly and windows recognized the X4

then started getting same error as jburgess1379. I then uninstalled the SCT updater and reinstalled. this time the driver was loaded correctly and went to SCT updater and did the Automatically check for updates and this time it worked ok.
