All I was always under the impression that HP provided the most detailed parameters for tuning our cars that's why it seems most tuners are now using it. I had a conversation with one of the big tuners here in Germany last week and he uses SCT. He says SCT software provides him more capability than HP. He stated SCT doesn't open up and give all abilities to all tuners and only top tier get all the capability.

Does anyone with knowledge and unbiased opinion care to comment?

Maybe is HP just cheaper for buisness owners (tuners) than SCT?

Depends what tier with sct you're at, but you could easily be bumped up or at least thats how it use to be. I've used both overs the years, I prefer hp tuners.

Interesting.
Tuning always seems to be this big secretive thing. I guess that is what intrigues me. I'm tempted to make the investment in HP to start leaning, on my own but debate is it really worth it for the once in a great while I need to retune.
