The Cobb is a much superior unit, sadly Cobb don't tune GT's,

Reading the various sites Lund is the way to go for the GT's.

I did post this what, a year back!

SCT is canned tune, DS supply SCT canned tuned under DS brand. Their tunes are just the Octane 93 canned SCT tunes.

I've had and tried on a stock car, SCT (DS), JDM and Lund. JDM drove the best, Lund made the most power.

Reason Lund make the best power is they truly custom tune to your needs, the only downside for me on Lund tunes is they do love tweaking the DBW and throttle maps a little too much, over-sensitive for my liking but acceptable.

AED does custom tunes like Lund also, Shaun the owner of AED writes your tune for you, not a member of his staff and his tunes drive fantastic.

DS have little to zero knowledge on mapping and tuning, SCT does it for them in the background.

The tunes DS sell are just off the shelf, its not custom or fine tuned to your car in any way whatsoever.

Does a DS/SCT tune transform a GT? YES!!!!!

Is a Lund/AED tune even better, HELL YES!!!!!


If you don't believe us tell DS you have changed your CAI from stock or JLT to the PMAS CAI. You will find their response won't be great. Or ask them to adjust your throttle response, or your gearshift firmness (auto). Or ask them to disable shift assist or ask them to disable cold start.

In short they won't be able or know how to, they will email/call SCT and try to get them to do it, proof of this would be amount of time it takes. Shift assist, cold start etc. takes a tuners literally a few minutes.

Cobb OTS s1 tune is actually really good for a canned tune, compared to other canned tunes. It's a step down from [MENTION=19118]Tune+[/MENTION] tune, but, alas, anything will be, Adam is literally a god of the ecoboost world :lol:. Just got our tune for the project ecoboost. Should be ready for Ford Fair to let off some serious POWAH

Out of interest, as I'm not going down this road as yet, how do the costs compare between Lund and DS? Hardware and software.
I know its all been covered before so apologies.

Buy a used un-married SCT X4 US edition from US Ebay www.ebay.com around £250-£300 delivered.

Then just buy the Lund tune direct from Lund $200 around £165, in short the total cost is around £450.

Or grab an nGauge from NemesisUK

Point was kinda missed.

My opinion was based on 7000 miles in a stock GT and 3000 miles with a DS tune and around 6000 miles with a DS catback exhaust. I had a noticeable gain in fun, sound and power. That is all.
Because of this, DS rules...is what I think I said. Is the tune better or worse than other products? Dunno. Don't care.

Manders, you are commenting on a product on a car you have briefly driven and couldn't possibly make a reasonable comparison. Your opinions seem based on what other GT owners are subjectively saying, through their experiences with the car.

I had a go in an Ecoboost once. Give me it for a month and I could probably give you some valid feedback on it. As it stands just now, I cant say much.

Point i think is most relevant in this debate regarding the canned dream science tune is this : IF YOU BOUGHT YOUR CAR FROM EVANS HALSHAW AND YOU HAVE A DREAM SCIENCE TUNE AND YOUR ENGINE BLOWS THE FUCK UP, THEY WILL FIX IT FOR THE 3 YEAR WARRANTY PERIOD ! if i buy a lund tune now and my engine blows they wont simple Now i have nearly 40k tied up in this car and its a keeper and i cant afford 10k repair bills as im just a working stiff and that to me is the reason why a load of us scots have went for this option rather than the more powerful , personal Lund tune !


2 1/2 years time i'll be getting a whipple and a lund/ngauge but until then i'll make do with my canned D.S TUNE

ps on ebay at the mo there is 150 shot nitrous package that ive been watching for ages , but im not sticking that on either ,yet when i bought my left hooker 13 years ago that was 1 of the first mods i did because it had no warranty ! but then again i was younger and wreckless back then .
