So it was cold, windy and rainy this weekend, and I wasn't free during the week to give the car some tlc... but I did have a chance to cover some of it up. I need to go through and do another coat, but I'm actually pretty happy with the results. The flash and angles I took make it more pronounced, but I actually can't see it from more than 5ft away.

You didnt sand it down did you?
Negative. It didn't really need it, I may do that down the road but it honestly seems like another coat or 2 will fill the issue.

Despite the way it looks in the first pic, there is only 1 spot that could use some sanding. When I scratched the wheel, there was barely a sound until I hit that spot...I essentially "rubbed" the paint off (that's how fine it was)

You think I should sand it down? You know better than me so I'm all ears
Personally the only reason I would sand it down is to smooth out the material and then layer the paint to make it look like it never happened again, im borderline nuts like that.

So if your ok with having the marks there, but covered with the finish then your good.

I'm pretty meticulous, but for the winter I may just give it a few coats and go from there.

I appreciate all the help! I'll update after a few more coats.

I have the factory 20" Foundry wheels and have been considering making them black somehow. Maybe a Sharpie is the answer! Haha! I'll get my niece and nephew over and make it a "coloring" activity.

OP, I see you're in MD, as am I. When I got my new tires put on a few months back, they found a small bend on the inner lip of one of the wheels. I took it to Wheel Doctor (I think that's what it was) and they fixed it no problem. I believe they can also recondition wheels from curb rash and stuff like that. If it's bad enough, I would go that route.
