Yeap... I have A LOT of tools, a lot. That's how I happen to have a 7/32 and a 9/32.

Coming from japanese and german cars, I find Fords application of hardware holy horrific and lazy. Bolts that are WAY TO LONG, Multiple head sizings all add up to a lazy engineering dept.

the real question is... 5.5mm? Really?

Case in point? To remove a gt pp tire, I need a 22mm and a 21mm... one for the locking nut and the other for the rest of the lugs. I mean really... a difference of 1mm ford? If you are NOT careful, one could possibly attempt to use a 22 when trying to remove the rest lf the lugs since a 22 WILL FIT on a 21mm nut... results are a stripped lug nut.

Fractions > Decimals!

As said, everything on new vehicles (except british brands, maybe) is all metric. Which, for the record, I rather. I just can't seem to accept km/h and *C.... lol

Yea 5.5mm is super strange. The only thing I can think of is since these fasteners are really small they don't fall into any standards so you get oddball sizes like that. I hardly ever run into anything smaller than like a 7MM these days for hex head fasteners. (Allen head and Torx fasteners do of course).

Most German cars follow the ISO standard now when it comes to bolt sizes. The idea is to to save money by standardizing sizes.
