The rousch:

The fake side scoops are stupid.

The upper grill is old.

The lower grill looks dumb with the round fogs shoved into it. At least get creative withe the shape or something.

Taking the sleek new car and "oldify it" it as much as possible.

No thanks.

Nice wheels though.

Tho
E saleen drawings on the other hand... Nice! Except whoever had the bright idea of coloring the b pillar. No. Just no.

Lol.

No doubt.

And the design will still be a mistake.
Not sure how the design will be a mistake. They sell pretty amazingly.

He's saying that regardless of how well they sell, it's still a mistake to do some of the things they are doing with the S550. Sort of like, money doesn't equal class.

People buy the car for performance.

Looks are secondary.

Tacking on non functional extra bits is never a good design move.

Then removing the advancements in design and oldifying it is a backwards step.

And plain ol' round fogs moved closer In the center? Really?

It's a fairly poor design theme. It doesn't mean it's a bad car. Will likely be great. But it won't look that great.

It may satisfy rousch fans. But it won't win over any critical acclaim. And likely will struggle making new fans. In the looks department anyway.

First of all its Roush.
Second, Roush knows what they are doing I am sure. Some people like side scoops on mustangs. Myself included. They don't come from the factory, so aftermarket makes them.
Lastly, yes performance does come first. But for these cars, tacked on side scoops are not going to do anything in the quarter mile. Trust me I have them on mine now. With that being said, no matter how good it performs, if it looks like crap I simply won't buy it, especially for a DD. Which is what 95% of these cars are. I wouldn't drive a 1000hp miata if someone paid me.

I was never a big fan of body kits myself. Some are tastefully done, but many just seem bulky and overwrought and sometimes super cheesy looking.

I did a painted center stripe and Cervini ram air hood on my 07. Nothing else. Personally I think the car looks great just like it is and haven't done anything else to it.

It seems both Roush and Saleen are trying to re-retro the new Mustang with these designs to appeal to people who don't care for the new direction of the factory look. I'm sure they will have no trouble finding a good market for these kits, but I definitely don't include myself in that group.

I think the new design neither needs nor lends itself to a lot of body kit alterations and attachments. The current design is pretty clean and svelte, and personally I would change very little about it.

That said, the Roush design looks infinitely better than Saleen's. The Roush kit at least preserves some of the new look up front. The Saleen kit completely reworks the front end and it looks quite silly IMO.

The front end really looks a lot better with a black car. The rims look great too. :hail: I might just buy the nose & rims for mine.
