I also have my gauges set for red. And I did see the flash at night when I hit ~7000 rpm.

Lol no? Things like NAV and heated/cooled seats are what entice people to buy the premium package. Considering this is somewhat "performance" based, i would think they would offer it in the PERFORMANCE package. BUT, no. Ford failed again. Just my two cents tho.

Only works at night. I wish it worked during the day too

Just curious what if turn on the headlights during the day would that activate the redline flash to appear in the daytime?

This is where a HUD comes into play, showing the rpm, speed and turning red during red line, and all you have to do is drive. You don't even have to look down at the gauges!

Also, it only comes standard in premium models. (which still baffles me)

I expect its part of the mycolor gauges, which are part of the premium dash.
