Hey folks,

Just to take the thread in a slightly different direction for a moment.

I had my Roush single adjustable coilover kit fitted this week, as seen here:

https://www.cjponyparts.com/roush-coilover-suspension-kit-single-adjustable-2015-2017/p/421839/

These are essentially KW variant 1, with a nice golden colour on the struts and some added Roush tax. Ive read both for/against that Roush changed the spring and damper rates from the KW original. Ive no idea to be honest.

Ive driven the car about 500 miles with them on now, and overall im very happy. Damping is nice and super controlled. No noticable increase in NVH. Absolutely zero of the 'float' feeling you get on the OEM setup.

My car is now sitting slightly lower than what it was with the Ford Eibach lowering springs... and I think it looks good.

It IS possible to go lower on the Roush (much lower in fact), but it becomes dodgy with the springs, as they lose tension and can release from the top hat. Mike @ Modurstang has set the fronts to the 100% safe lower limit.

Worth pointing out that at the RRP these are inferior to Pedders (and lots of other offerings on the market), but if you get a chance to pick up a set cheaply, then they are a decent enough option IMO.

Also worth mentioning that Roush add an extra locking collar over the KW version, to circumvent a weakness found on the KWs.

I paid about 650GBP fitted for these, and at the price im very happy.

On my car:

Dropping a quick one to thank Nige.

Pedders adapters came. Not sure what i was expecting but these things are weighty, shiny and look the fucking gonads. Honestly, they did blow my expectations out the water.

I also had the thread condoms arrive from ebay too... a whole bunch of red ones. So if anyone wants any at a meet give me a shout ill bring some along.

My topmounts should arrive this week and pedders are looking at my coilovers on 18th so will check the clunks out then and install all in one.

Hi Nige / Hinch

Fitted my Steeda top mounts today plus Nige's adaptors and Hinch's red plastic thread top looking good and I noticed a difference in the shock travel as my car is lowered by 1.5 inches on my Pedders. Also fitted my Barton Hybrid short shifter and getting used to the difference from stock is very tight indeed but interesting with 720bhp wanting to go faster than my gear changes :eyebulge:. Mcleod rxt clutch next mod .

Just out of interest, is the ride better on than these as apposed to lowering springs ? Wasn't going to do any more mods, but quite fancy these and some new wheels now. :D

coilovers? Pedders? or the steeda top mounts? Gonna have to be specific here.

Coilovers yes (pedders included in that).

Pedders coil overs
Well springs lower the car, and thus lower the COG, coilovers lower the car and allow you to tweak the dampening which springs can't do. And naturally the coilovers are set to work hand in hand (spring rates, dampening, heigh etc etc). whereas lowering springs are more set to just making the car sit lower, and thus the dampening of the struts etc is still more aligned to a stock cars height.

Probably people that can go into way more extensive detail than what i've just done. But, the principal remains. ;)!

Thanks for the reply, but I was just wondering if there is a discernable difference in the ride quality between the coil overs and just having lowering springs.

well yes as you can set the dampening rate.

Come and drive our demo car with Pedders coil overs on. It'll demonstrate how a decent coil over set-up significantly improves body control and precision. A difficult thing to describe - it's something you need to feel.
