S550 campaign sucks

What do you expect Block to say? Showing him was just adding fuel to the s550 hype thats what ford wanted.

I've encountered a few people who claim to have seen the car or a picture of it. The one thing in common they have to say is Ford will do everything short of corporal punishment on anyone that leaks. They want 100% control of all s550 info that gets released. Might not happen that way but they will try damned hard and so far doing a pretty good job at it.

From what I know Settlemire is just some guy that hangs out in forums who happens to work for GM. In other words it wasn't some plan that GM had to have a presence on C5?

Ford could just not be as into the online stuff. every company is different...

With him on C5 is a double edge sword I bet he is part of the reason that C5 is so draconian on banning folks who dont tow the company line and even mention the GT500.

I think it's better that way anyhow. Keep the worlds separate, they don't usually mix well. I've seen it happen on other :mullet: versus :ford: sites too... lots of trolling and flame wars.

I dont know about that. I moderate a regional car forum and once you get past the inital pissing the exachage of different car people is pretty good and fun.

True but the size of C5 I imagine invites a lot of trolls with little interest in thoughtful debate. Regional and smaller communities tend to be friendlier in general.

Anyhow I agree I do like seeing varied opinions from people with different cars and background.

I would rather be surprised by the new Mustang than know too much about it this early. If it is half as good as the rumors suggest it will be very good. The difference with the hyped up Camaro was it had nothing on sale while the new model was being teased for three years. The Mustang has a current on sale car that will require deep discounts to move if the public finds out too much.

I couldn't take the wait any longer. I ended up trading my '06 GT 'vert for a GT500. I figure it'll be a while before the car is up for purchase and I never buy any new vehicle platform's first year anyway (usually there are some glitches). It's kind of like Windows-- wait for the service pack.

Anyhow, I got the Shelby because I figured the older body styles would go down in value when the new car comes out, but the Shelby would hold value much better due to... well.. it's a Shelby. =) That... and I also enjoy knowing I can destroy any Camaro that pulls up next to me.
