The "changes" to the 5.2 could just mean switching to a cross plane crank for regular Mustang GTs, or to replace the Coyote altogether.

All engines listed on the UAW agreement product overview (which is basically all of them currently in production) say "with upgrade" which probably just means there will be further development as opposed to just being end-of-lifed. There's nothing specific about GT350 in the whole thing but hey, mountains out of mole hills.

It's all just rumors...

I can see the ads for the 2018 Super Duty 5.2R now:

"Designed to tackle the planet’s most challenging roads – an all-day track truck that’s also street legal."

Where have I heard that before?
Don't be sprinkling voodoo on my VooDoo man. :headbang:

You can bet there's a guy out there figuring out how to dress one up and drop it in his '32 Ford coupe too. :headbang:

Ford wouldnt put fpc on regular gt, that would drive the price of gt plus the gas guzzler.
GT500 might get fpc with FI just guessing

It would never be a truck engine. No low end torque. To high of rpm. Bad mph. Ford is going away from the v8 light truck everyone knows this.
It has a few more cubes than the 5.0 that Ford already puts in trucks. It wouldn't be difficult to redesign the 5.2 to be a more torquey engine.

It should only be in our car. They have nothing else to put it in. There is no way ford I'll put a flat crank in a truck
I agree it isn't likely that Ford would put a FPC in a truck, but it is super easy to swap out the FPC for a more traditional setup.

Agreed.

I don't think the FPC is directly related to fuel economy. The fuel economy has more to do with huge cams and possibly overlap of them.

Some people just like to hear themselves complain. If you're buying this car and dont expect upgrades you're a fool. Also like you said....its a rumor!!!

It's not even a rumor. It's blogs and forum sites reading way, way too much into two words on a UAW agreement.

Absolutely true - the word "upgrade" that has everyone so aroused could just as likely mean an equipment upgrade at the plant to keep on building exactly what they're building now, perhaps more efficiently or in slightly larger quantities. (Oops - Did I just start another rumor?).

I know but it would be nice to receive our cars before upgrade rumors are flying across the Internet. They can't even release our cars due to glove compartment issues, seat belts, ott stripes etc.
Yeah ford get these cars in customers hands for Pete sakes. What's the hold up. :frusty:
No stripes just waiting on shipping info. Days, weeks who knows.
Back in sept 2013 it took 4 weeks to get a high in demand C7. 4 weeks !!!

I have just been informed by a very good source that if your car was ordered with OTT stripes and your still waiting and not getting any answers and your car has already been built. The reason for the delay is because ford does not install the stripes at the factory!!! This is the same reason why my car left on 11-4 then returned back to the factory on 11-5. I think this is a big bunch of BULLSHIT. IM pretty pissed because of all the run around we get and nobody was giving a straight answer. I'm tired of false delivery dates and now this explains it all!! Bullshit. Two month now and others have been waiting longer. My great Michigan forecast all next week is snow. How convenient.
