Trying to learn all I can about detailing before my Mustang is delivered. I've got a Ruby Red EB Coupe coming in about 6-8 more weeks and I've got a few questions for you detailing experts.:hail:

Ford calls my choice of color Ruby Red Tinted Clearcoat. Is this finish any different from the other paint colors? Are there any precautions or special techniques for this color? I'm thinking that it falls in the "dark" category and may be unforgiving concerning swirl marks and inexperience. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

#1 - ensure the dealer does not touch the car upon arrival. 100% chance they will scratch up your paint.

#2 - between now and then, research and acquire the proper tools/products needed to do a proper washing/drying of your car.

If you follow these 2 things, you will be in a good place to not need major correction of the paint. Then, just seal/wax as you see fit and continue with proper washing/drying.

Thanks for the replies. There is a ton of information out there about detailing. I've been watching YouTube videos for the past two weeks trying to learn as much as I can before I touch the car! I am getting more informed each day.

Do all of the 2015 paint colors include clear coat? Or is that something for the Ruby Red and Triple Yellow?

Does the 3 stage make it more or less susceptible to scratching? Or is there no difference between the two paint jobs?
