Confused. In an A10, without using the paddle shifters, can you get to the 3000-4000 RPM range?

After a drive in an A10 GT today, even at 70-85 mph, I noticed the RPMs never went over 2500. Hence my confusion. Thanks in advance and sorry if this is a silly question.

Of course an A10 will hit redline but your post is a little vague. Was this a used car you were looking at?

With a 10R80, redline can only be exceeded if the user is in full paddle mode where the car will NOT upshift at all.

You may be able to come close to redline in auto mode (non-paddle use), but the trans and PCM logic will make the car shift every time.

Driving around like a grandma in town isn't going to get the 10R80 above 2.5/3k RPM. Get it lit on a highway, mash the throttle and you'll see the trans can and will rev out as designed.

Need more 10R80 info - hit this main thread, Post 1, Page 1 - scroll down to the Facts area or hit the attached PDFs and you'll have all the info you need about the 10R80 and it's functions.

Put the shifter in "S" instead of "D"
