Afternoon, just

I have a 2019 GT manual and am thinking, only thinking at the moment of a Ford Performance/Roush Supercharger. As i understand I would need to change out the Oil Pump Gears and Crank Case Sprocket as well.

How much would it cost to have fitted? Currently I have contacted a few specialists but due to the lockdown they arent giving quotes or they aren't replying which is fair enough. Just looking for a ball park figure and does anything else NEED changing.

From all the clips ive seen supercharging the GT turns it into near enough proper supercar performance, which interests me.

I don't know if anyone has fitted a Roush S/C to a facelift car over here as the UK model has a GPF which the US cars don't have and Ford/Roush hadn't created a calibration for GPF cars as it's a small market.
I do know that Whipple have calibrations for GPF though if you wanted to look at them. Obviously you would lose your warranty if you went with Whipple

ModUrSTANG have fitted the FP/Roush to UK 2018+ GT's with GPF's, i emailed them but they wont quote at the moment and I fully appreciate why. Just trying to see if anyone know a rough cost and what's involved, from what i can see its about $8000 for the supercharger alone but thats in the USA and probably not particularly relative to UK prices.

In 2019 I approached Jacksons Ford, Henley in Arden about a Roush S/C. When we spoke, they told me they had installed a Roush kit into a pre-facelift GT, but that Roush hadn't released a tune for the 18> cars.

I contacted them several months later and they said Roush still hadn't released the 18> kit because Roush hadn't completed the tune for the facelift GT. Things may be different now.
Alternatively you could use a 3rd party tune, PBD seem to be very well regarded in the U.S and the U.K.

Jacksons do most of the work and servicing on my car, I recommend them.

Excellant news, I didnt know that.

I do know that when i looked at this for a 2015-2017 car it came out at about 10k

I looked into this last year and you are looking at around ÂŁ12,500 to get one supplied and fitted with the relevant upgrades, along with the oil cooler

Hi Wenklaw,

Just so you know our official advice is that it is much more important to fit a supporting suspension kit like the Steeda "Stop The Hop" kit than to fit pump gears/crank sprocket upgrade.
Theses engine mods we recommend for someone who is shooting for big power (past a stage 1 supercharger.. which lets face it is big power in real terms!) or for a "hard duty" car that will see track work etc. Of course if you want to do it then sure its a nice "peace of mind" upgrade.... it's not like we are saying DON'T do it...

However upgrading the rear end is essential when fitting a power upgrade as the rear end cant even handle stock power effectively.....

Also I usually advise fitting a set of Velgen wheels (to everyone haha! I love them!) but especially for Supercharged cars as they allow you to run a much wider rear tyre so you can deploy that extra power more effectively, plus they look super amazing too..... and if you get the VF5 lightweight wheels you are adding a bunch of performance too due to their lightweight.

The good things is that you can do these mods in a modular way as "prep" for supercharging, breaking up the expense and getting all the benefit from the suspension and wheels upgrades, and then you can just "plonk the supercharger on" when ready and the car is ready to go, like the icing on the cake.

So you could go:
1. Springs and Stop The Hop Kit
2. Wheels & tyres
3. Supercharger pack.... (inlcuding engine mods if you want)

Bingo awesome car.....

it wont be cheap unless you put the wrench time in yourself. Easy enough job.

I would absolutely recommend oil pump gears (Boundary or MMR) and crank sprocket and deleting the factory oil cooler. (I went with Mishimoto)

Better options out there than Roush. Go with a whipple. Kenne Bell don't do 2018 kit for Euro yet I believe.

Get all the supporting mods in place. Cradle lockout etc and do it in stages. if you get a vibration, you know where it came from. supercharger should be the last thing that you put on.

Thanks for the replies. Basically some suggest one thing and others suggest another. I want to go FP/Roush as i want to keep my GT as stock as possible, I am not sure if Ford honour the warranty like they do in the USA but even if they dont (which i suspect, i am at early stages of looking in to all this) its still more of a Ford approved upgrade than the whipple, although i am open to being corrected and if the whipple is a better choice maybe i will go down that route instead.

I dont want to change the wheels for aftermarket ones or appearance of the car unless its with Ford Performance parts.

I am not going to track it or drive it hard all the time, i just like the idea of turning the GT into the animal it can be with a SC.
. It's just an idea at the moment nothing more than that, if costing run to ÂŁ15k for what is required i wont bother, ÂŁ10k-12k maybe.

Unfortunately you are completely wrong in that. The Roush charger is in no way "more Ford approved" in the UK than Whipple. Personally I recommend Whipple as it's a more advanced charger and they provide an EU compatible remap. But in terms of Ford warranty they are both completely non-supported.

If you want to keep the look stock that's another matter, that's of course your decision, but doing a"stop the Hop" kit is still what we would regard as essential and will not affect the look of the car.

Just as a note when Ford UK supercharged their Heritage car they added elements of the Steeda Stop The Hop kit (The IRS Full Pack) but didnt have time to add the other bits as they were sold out and they needed to fit it and send it out for press duty that week....

I did say I suspected the warranty wouldn't be valid anymore and that I am open to Whipple should it become apparent that its the btter choice. The reason I was and am thinking Roush is down to the fact Ford USA do support it which gives me peace of mind a little more. Anyway i havn't ruled out anything yet and once the lockdown is no more or at least eased I will hopefully start getting some actual prices for installation of the SC on its own (whipple and Roush) and then prices for SC+the other suggestions including the Stop the Hop kit.

No worries, as I say, my recommendation is to do the suspension now anyway as you will benefit from it regardless, and then you are building towards the SC and breaking up the cost over time....

Hiya, supercharger for mine is on my list and gradually getting much closer.......

I get all my work done at GT101, was there last week for 2nd Service along with some BMR rear suspension work, and can’t recommend them highly enough .
There always seems to be a Mustang in there having a supercharger fitted - very tempting lol - and they’ll be the ones that I get to sort me out with one

Give them a call - they’re open atm, which is handy, and am sure can sort you out :like:
(If you’re anything like me it’s can’t wait, won’t wait lol :cwl:)

Cheers,

Benno
