I speak from experience that if you buy a new GT that the dealer already had supercharged, you can find one that will agree to give you the full bumper to bumper 3yr/36K warranty (including engine/transmission). If you do it yourself (or possibly even later after the car is bought but through them), I can't be sure you get the same warranty. You don't want the supercharger individual warranty that says something like they pay up to $2K lifetime for an engine repair or $2K lifetime for a transmission repair (where lifetime just means they pay that max amount regardless of how many times your may need service). Those supercharger warranties won't every come close to paying for the actual cost on a new A10 or engine. You really want the dealer you bought it from to give you a full warranty since they sold you the car with the SC pre-installed.

It doesn't matter what the dealer says it's Ford's warranty.

I have had a similar experience. Dealer installed my Whipple and had it wrapped into the financing and added it to the sales agreement dealer would still honor the warranty. Have had 3 service visits for an electrical issue (supercharger air filter rubbed off a ground), tossed belt (original tensioner issue), and replaced driver side rear wheel bearing. Every time it was covered under warranty.

Two weeks ago, they were offering to replace the transmission under warranty due to a lockout/shifting issue after multiple failed trouble shooting attempts after my new clutch install. I was holding off as I couldn't afford to be without a car at that particular time, and fortunately came across the thread on this forum about the line going to the master cylinder being loose in the meantime, which ended up being the issue. (System was never able to bled completely causing air to remain in the line and in turn gear lockout)

Bottom line, it really comes down to how your individual car dealership conducts business and if they are willing to honor their word, even if it means entailing a cost of their own for something corporate FORD won't cover. Not all car dealerships are the Devil...there are still great ones out there.

Sort of off topic, but same applies to Insurance companies. Some insurance companies will attempt to deny you coverage if they find out aftermarket performance parts (i.e a supercharger) are on installed on the vehicle.

We've all heard of the GEICO horror stories.....

Did they hassle you on the new free clutch install on your whipple? When I needed a new clutch on my old '15 GT (no SC installed), it was a horror story since they said I had more than 12 months or 12K miles and they only replace the clutch for free if it had less than 12K miles/12mo on it. I fought with the Ford warranty department for a while (since the car was sitting there for months on a previous repair and I explained those few months should be added to the 12 month max - but they disagreed) before I gave up and paid for a new clutch & installation out of pocket. I'm seriously considering buying a new clutch and having it sit in the box until I need it. But I still have less than 3K miles on my '17 GT, so maybe I'll hold off buying it until I hit 12mo/12K miles (assuming you didn't have to pay out of pocket for your new clutch and it had less than 12K/12mo on it).

I had the dealer install a mach 600 clutch kit, exedy flywheel, and throwout bearing after the stock one started slipping in the higher RPMs at WOT. I paid for the clutch and install as I was doing this as an upgrade. I was having them install a MGW shifter which required dropping the trans, so I figured why not upgrade the clutch at the same time.

After they completed the install, I was getting horrible 1st gear and reverse lock out at seemingly random times. Everytime I'd take it back to have the clutch bleed, it would be fine for about or day or two and then the lockout issues would come back.

We eventually found it to be related to the hose on the master cyclinder not being pushed on all the way, which was in turn not letting the system to completely bleed.

Sounds like you have an in with some ford techs or a manager or two... Any dealership near me would not even get near my car im sure and it just has a blower n few simple mods.. Not that Id let them anyway though.
