So i just got a new V6. I am looking at redoing the exhaust, but i don't really know a lot or how much is necessary. I have read and called a couple people, but now I want someones opinion.

http://www.roushperformance.com/parts/2015-Mustang-3-7L-V6-Exhaust-Kit-Round.html#

I am trying not to spend an arm and a leg, but i also want it to sound good.
I also want to know what the difference between an X pipe and H pipe are
Or is just changing the muffler enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :help:

I like a deep tone for sure. Something that's not going to be too loud while just cruising.
The video at the bottom of the Roush link is kind of what I am going for.
I know its a very vague question. I am just really trying to get suggestions for the best bang for my buck.

Congrats on your new V6! I think you would benefit from browsing the exhaust sound clip thread here in the V6 section and getting an idea of what sound you want. You got a couple of different options:

-Full cat back system. The most expensive but it is essentially bolt on. This is from the catalytic converters back. Borla and Gibson make these for the V6.
-Axle back system. Requires cutting and is essentially replacing the rear 25% of the exhaust. There are systems for about $400 available. Roush, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, and a few others make these.

I'm not really aware of commercially available H or X pipes, most people seem to get a shop to make one for them. Obviously this is not an option with a cat back as the system will come with a center resonator or X or H pipe already.

There are places like American Muscle, LMR and CJ Pony Parts that sell all this.

Good luck!

And one more thing, is just getting that enough? Or would you say that I should get headers, X/h pipe, etc....

Join the 2015-2016 Mustang s550 group on Facebook. I saw 2 sets listed for sale already. One last week for $250, another for $300.

You answered the OP's question better than we could have, probably, but I'll just pipe in here to add that we do make commercially available H- and X-pipes. Here's the listing for those. We also make resonated X-pipes, which we officially call Tru-X mufflers since it's essentially a perforated X-pipe inside a muffler:
