That does work but the only problem sometimes it takes the 2 cars racing to get at an equal speed or one of guys isn't ready or the camera's aren't on & ECT. You only have a few sec leaving it in drive & using the paddles to put you in your power band if you don't go within those few seconds the trans automatically jumps into a higher gear & there is a good delay when the computer tells the trans to downshift from 5 or 6 to whatever gear it sees fit for the mph.
Leave it in drive from a dig just turn off all the nannies.
If you push the shifter quickly, you can actually push straight from S through D to N, without touching the button. If you push slower, some mechanism connects in D that prevents you from pushing in any direction without using the button. So just be careful.
Yes, I've gone right thru D and into N before.Put both the gear lever in S and the mode toggle in Sport+/Track. Then when you push forward to D, you still get the faster shifting. The slow shifting of Normal won't give the best acceleration.
