Installed my Christmas shift knob yesterday! Love the look and slightly bigger size of the new knob. I only had red thread locker in the cabinet, so I used it sparingly, but it seems rock solid. I was surprised by how much I had to back the knob back off so that the reverse lockout would still function.

I had to do the same, surprisingly. Seemed a bit excessive but it all works great. Do you have a different shifter and/or billet lock-out?

Not yet, I still have the stock shift mechanism and reverse lockout. I will probably have that for a long while longer, as I spent way too much money on my car this year. I've only got 1600 miles on the thing and I've already blown the bank account. Time to pump the brakes for a bit!

Apart from the sways (duh!), what other BMR goodies did you get?

Installed the front part of the suspension today.

The parts list for today: BMR front performance springs, BMR front sway bar, Steeda front camber bolts

I saw a video that said to remove the rotor to gain access to the stuff. Not sure if everyone does that, but since I was changing out pretty much all of the front parts, I did it. With the Performance Pack calipers, you pretty much need to!

Uh, does anyone know how to put this stuff back together? Man, the top spindle bolt on each side was insanely hard to pound out. I definitely mushroomed the ends of both of them. that's ok though, because they were getting replaced anyway. Other than that, everything came out very easy. The sway bar is already out in this photo. I was very nervous about getting it out, as all of the videos complained about it. I had the old one out and the new one in in about 60 seconds each, by myself. If you take the time to walk around and look at what you're dealing with, it's super easy!

Old vs new. The springs are crazy different. Hard to believe the spring rate can stay the same but they're this much shorter and you only get a 1.25" drop. The sway bar is not a ton thicker than the performance pack sway bar, but the leverage changes because of the mount points for the end links. Very excited to see what this does to my cornering.

Bar diameter... not much difference

Spring height. Wow. Also, you can see the mount points for the sway bars in the back there.

Everything back together!

All the red things!

driveway check passes, but BARELY. I think clearance will improve when I put the back suspension parts on.

All in all, with 2 trips to pick up tools that I needed and driving almost all the way to Oakland to get them (new years day, only Walmart was open), I started at 5AM and finished at 1:30PM. Had to walk away a few times, and ate lunch somewhere in there, but all in all, a fun install!

By the way, if you are getting the BMR sway bars, you will need one of these

I was freaking out because getting the hex bolt off of the rear left side sway bar mount was maddening. You get about a 6th of a turn at a time because the alternator is right above and there is not a lot of room from the wheel well. The new bolt is an allen bolt. And the alternator hasn't moved. I stared at it for about 30 minutes trying to figure out what the heck I was going to do. Then I went down to Home Depot and saw a kit of swivel allens. Bingo! Plenty of room to work.

Do yourself a favor and get one before you start! 10mm to be exact!

Hope this helps someone!
