Regarding the JLT piece, I think that on the vehicle, it looks great. Unfortunately, when you look really closely, it looks like it was cut with a hack saw. You can see the places where the cuts went slightly too far. Definitely not what I was expecting in today's age of manufacturing. It's not bad at all, and when you have it on the car, it looks so much better than the guts it's hiding. I'm really happy to have it on the car!

installed the redline hood struts and got rid of the prop rod over the weekend. The hood struts are very nice. I do notice a lot of flex on the hood when opening and closing. Not that the whole hood flexes, but just the area where the hinge and now the hood supports attach. It's not that bad, and I am very happy with not having to put the prop rod up each time now. I also had to cut the bracket on the passenger side to get it to fit. The instructions say to readjust the hood, but there was no way I was going to do that for an aftermarket part. That's a pretty ballsy thing to say on the part of redline I think. Anyway, a little time with a file and then some spray paint and everything is right as the mail!

Saw this trunk light trick in another thread and since the light in the convertible trunk is woefully inadequate, I wanted to give it a shot.
Here are the parts I used:

$13 mod

I was hoping that the connectors would work, but I ended up having to solder

Here is the adapter in the socket

Everything in and ready to be pushed back

The LED strip is made to be daisy chained, so I used the other side to make a connector in case I ever need to unplug it for any reason

stuck it to the roof of my trunk

ahhhh much better!

Nerdiest mod I've done so far.

While I was on my LED adventure, I decided to make my own switchback kit. Here is what I came up with:

$12 each

$5 each

$35 total and no tools of any kind required to install. My kind of modification!

Blinkers flash yellow, of course, and I even got the galloping blinker that we all love so much.

last LED mod... I was looking at the interior bulbs as well since I was making a decent sized order from superbrightleds.com so I got red, UV, and cool white bulbs to replace the interior bulbs with since these are 99 cents each

They are super easy to pop in and out, so I let my kids pick the first color, which is red.

That's weird you had to cut. Mine fit perfectly. Also I haven't noticed any flex. Just wondering if the struts have a design change or if the hood material on a 16 is exactly the same as the 17. :shrug:

Yeah, not sure... I've already noticed 1 or 2 small things that are just slightly different on the 17... for example, I had no issues getting the sound tube out. I know others had some problems.

The instructions say to loosen the hinge bolts and realign the hood, but there was no way I was going down that road and then adjusting the bumper and the fenders and the doors and whatever else didn't line up after that.

Anyway, small correction and everything worked great!

I've fitted these to a UK Mustang and only had to loosen the hinge and straighten up and because it was so small everything stayed aligned. No flex either.

Finally got everything buttoned up with the new spoiler!
