I do not plan on headers any time soon but do not like the appearance of the right exhaust manifold with out the heat shield. Came from the factory with out one. For about $15 order one from Levittown Ford. Wondering if it will have an effect on radiating heat to the intake.

So, there isn't one on there normally from the factory?

If not, you have the part number for that?

If you have the time and you like them to make them look better take them off and have them ceramic coated a color you like itll keep heat in and color nice.

The posted part number was issued by Levittown Ford on their web site and my invoice and it fits. If you do a search their in the parts selection it comes up. It's been my experience with over the counter part numbers may differ from manufacturing stamping numbers. I have noticed a drop in inlet air temp with this install.

Mine doesn't have it already either. So weird that these are missing.

Isn't your starter under the back end of this manifold? Heat rises. Will placing this shield on this side cause excess heat on the starter?
Just curious.

Good Question, no it will not impact the starter. The shield is just deflecting heat from radiating on the top of the exhaust manifold. It is not exchanging heat to the starter area.

I suspect the shield was used on the S197 V6 and deemed not needed, for whatever reason, on the S550 V6. If I wasn't going to go with headers I would order it.
