So now that the 3.5mm jack is gone ... direct USB and Bluetooth are seemingly the only way to go for playing your own MP3s in the car (except CDs, I suppose).

Using the "Bluetooth" method you basically control the music with your phone, which works OK. I don't like Bluetooth though, so... here's the problem:

...with the USB method SYNC 3 basically uses the phone as a hard drive with music, and lets you control the music on the touch screen.

How do you fast forward / rewind through a long track (like a concert recording 2-3 hours long) ??

You can't drag the "position" cursor along on the screen, and you're not controlling it with your phone so you can't do it there...

Press and hold the FWD >>> button and it should start skipping through.

That almost makes too much sense ;)

I would hope since it's Wi-Fi upgrade enabled, they'll make it scroll-able, too.

Simple software fix I'm sure.

Don't mention it... I just found out the slot under the buttons was where the CD's went.. I most certainly did not NOTICE or KNOW this lol.

... I don't own any cd's...

I tried sticking more than 1 in there, and after a subtle grinding noise figured it wasn't a 6-slot changer like the 2007 model that I traded in ;) I did find it right away though :)

Tried the next/previous buttons to fast forward / rewind . . . it takes forever to move even 5 mins. They really need to let you scroll through a track via the screen...

The media player is pretty basic and halfassed. I wish they had used Android so we could put Poweramp on there. That's why I'm mounting an 8" tablet.
