the OKTB was given 2 days ago, it would be impossible to get everyone the first week. Time is also one of the lesser factors in scheduling. allocation, priority & commodities all outweigh it, and that's always the case, even during regular production.
Yes I know know they all can't be scheduled. Yes I know of commodity restraints as well. BUT…. if there is a clean build-able order for retail that someone put in months ago, it SHOULD take priority over a clean build-able retail order that was given after it. Its how I would do it. Ford doesn't but that doesn't necessarily make it a good business practice though. Retail order and allocation don't make sense anyway. A retail order is a SOLD order. Ford shouldn't care where that order comes from. My guess is they favor large metro areas for saving on shipping costs. Hell that's fine, ship my order to the nearest large metro area and I'll go pick it up. (Yes I know they won't do that.) Time ordered should be given priority. A sale is a sale. Pushing a retail customer to the back of the line over Jonny come lately is a poor strategy if you ask me. But again, I don't run Ford. I can wait (and raise cain) or buy elsewhere. I may do both I have to admit. ;)

Even with no commodity restraints they still schedule different model/packages/combinations by different weeks, it's impossible to figure out really..
But anyway of course you have every right to be displeased & and say so! I would be too & was for the last two months. My stock order was supposed to be scheduled on 7/10 but instead Ford lost my order, and it was entered correctly with a confirmation and even showing on cotus, just disappeared into thin air. It had to be reentered a week later and that time was supposed to be pulled on 7/17 but the day before Ford decided to suspend all scheduling for 2 months so mine ended up getting bumped back to Sept, I got a build of 10/13. So best case it comes in only one, maybe two weeks before retail orders anyawy.

The model/package/combo mix by different weeks really isn't valid if there are no commodity restraints. V6's, EB's V8's of all types roll down the assembly line mixed up this way and that. Sure they may try to schedule many of the same but by the time they roll down the line there doesn't seem to be any semblance of order. A valid point of yours to be sure though. :) Yes you were wronged as well. Sorry about that, I really am I understand delay to be sure. :) But again technically your vehicle is a dealer stock vehicle that in Ford's eye is being sold to the first person on the lot that wants it, not a SOLD vehicle. When in reality we know it is. Ford doesn't know for sure a customer ordered your vehicle, for retail they DO know. Please don't think I'm belittling your order I hope you get it ASAP. :)

The thing is if that did matter to us we wouldn't have ordered. Some of us are willing to take the chance, good with bad. I don't want to wait until Spring 2015 or later. I've had plenty of late build vehicles with problems as well.

Yeah as it turns out I'm actually glad I got bumped to Job 2, who knows how long those Job 1 cars will actually be sitting out on the lot at the factory or what problems they really have. Since my car will be built after the OKTB it should go straight out.

(6/5/14) Priority code 10, GT premium, PP, 50th package, loaded. I am anxious for my new baby, but not upset a this point. I did 22 years with a Ford dealership as a lead tech, then parts and service manager. I understand the issues that come with the release of a brand new design of a very popular and classic model. Though I believe that Ford will do everything in it's power to make sure this car is RIGHT, before the customer takes delivery, I still don't want a "first off the line" unit! I'll be patient. This little red sweetheart is going to be in my family for a LONG time, just like our '65....

As of today, Ford has scheduled 23,000+ of these cars. Anyone that was scheduled today won't even be one of the first 18,000 off the line. You are pretty safe in getting a trouble free car at this point with your retail order (unless you are unlucky enough to be scheduled the day after New Years or the super bowl).

23K? What's your source? They better getting shipping then because the factory lot isn't that big.

Your patience is to be commended. But doesn't it even bother you the LEAST little bit that you have not been chosen over someone who has walked into the dealer last week, over 3 months AFTER you, and already has a VIN and build date week? Not even a little bit?

I'm just curious.
