This reminds me of the post where a guy thought the sequential turn signals were "rice".

Its just super cheesy in my opinion. That and its a pony.......common really? Whats next? A shift knob in the shape of a pony?

Seriously? I literally get more positive comments about the pony lights than about everything else on the car combined. I'd rather lose 200 hp than lose those pony lights; they're probably my favorite thing about the car.
When I rented a 2014 Mustang, my wife saw the ponies on the ground and that sealed it - she decided RIGHT THEN that we had to buy a new 2015 Mustang. No ifs, ands or buts.

Lucky ponies for me!

For the original poster - try a few layers of clear packing tape. It should distort the image enough to make it more of an oval "blob" on the ground, rather than a full-on shaped stallion.

First thread ever by an owner/hater! God, I love this place!!

I remember back when I was in the bodyshop business back in the day. Guys would bring in Trans Am's and Monte Carlo SS' in to have the decals removed without messing up the paint.

i absolutely love the projection. Its a pony car, it owns that. that logo is historical and iconic. no one looks at that silhouette shape and wonder what it is. it screams "Mustang"

so of course you are going to see Pony's all over the car. I personally love how it pops out and makes itself known.

Its worth it to me. I don't hate them...I simply don't prefer them. If I had my way...the whole car would be badge-less. Its my first American car and I do enjoy it. I simply don't like all the pony stuff. It seems tacky to me.
Ford may have a replacement light since without the "Pony" cut out they call them "Puddle Lights", my daughter's Focus Titanium has them.

Color off would be nice. I'm working on removing them. If anyone wants the assembly/bulb when I'm finished, they can have it for free.
I could maybe just trade you my base mirrors - Magnetic as well! ;)

I'm with you on the pony lights. I didn't know the car had them when I bought it, and when I found out I laughed. I was wondering if it would be possible to change the image by replacing a template or something. I would rather it project an obscenity on the ground and wire it to a push button.

If you care about resale value and you don't like them, be careful taping them to get them not to show.

My wife's 2014 was in a pretty bad accident that needed a few panels repaired and a lot of paint blended. When we got the car back, we noticed that the puddle lamps looked spotty, as if part of the masking on the lens to get the pony shape had been partially stripped off, presumably from tape used to mask off the mirrors when repainting the car. I couldn't see the shape on the light itself to see if it was worth attempting to fix with paint myself, so they'll have to be replaced. They're about $27 MSRP a piece to replace with genuine Ford parts.

Dude, are you serious? The Pony Projection Lights are, by far the most awesome feature about the car. I take it you're not a mustang guy or just don't know the heritage of the mustang.

I think it would be sweet if there was an option to change it to a 5.0 emblem!
